I'd be surprised if Pat made more than 45k. There are only a few people who make money in Radio. Select on air personalities (usually Mornings) and Sales guys.

Yep -- I took a radio broadcasting course out of high school. Earning prospects were so poor I actually was able to make more money in retail to go back to University and get my degree. It's not a good career.

They usually aren't. This is usually Ryan Leslie's spot. Kirch is (was?) his boss. This was obviously pretty short notice, whatever happened.

Hardly ever. Usually just when the regular hosts are on sick days/vacation. Kirch is the station director and Will is a producer.

That sucks. I was kind of hoping Leslie would end up taking Pinder's spot on the morning show. Pinder is just so awkward with Rhett and Boomer it can be tough to listen to at times. I think they're giving him time to adjust but I thought Leslie would be a better fit there because he is more outgoing and he has a better sense of humour.

It really is a brutal radio station. They sound like amateurs. I guess you get what you pay for.

Speaking of the various people on Sportsnet960... has anybody else noticed that Josh Humphries seems to say "definitely" once per sentence when he's arguing a point?
He sounds like Rainman when he gets going.

I wouldn't go that far. I was at his place the other night, no sign of his parents.

It's a pretty amateur station for the most part. Thankfully we have Peter Maher. Brad Curle has really grown on me over the years too.
TSN won't bother coming here either since they're pissy like ESPN about just not bothering with stuff they don't cover.

We should be hammering on those two for the on air personality changes. Overall 960 is a good station, they should stop tweaking things constantly.

960 isn't bad, but it certainly isn't anything special. I've started to listen to the streaming broadcast of Mike Richards show on TSN radio in Toronto. Once you get past Richards skit/song dribble, him and Bastle are have much better polish and the ability to discuss all kinds of sport intelligently with informed opinions that exceed anything you'll get on 960. I can't stand the Leafs, NFL, raptors, etc... Yet when they discuss it, I actually get into it. 960 can barely get me into the Flames and I like the Flames!
Time for 960 to step it up and bring in some talent. I get that 960 is kind of a developmental station where rookies seem to be getting a chance to hit the air, but they clearly have enough guys that spend 5 minutes making a 10 second point. Time to get some polish.

Fan 960 not having one person who can really discuss any other legitimate sport aside from Hockey is brutal. They haven't had anyone since Richards left. Lacrosse and MMA discussion mixed in with 98% hockey doesn't make a sports station, even in a hockey market.
Richards was also their best interviewer, followed by Kerr, and they're both gone. Richards isn't their fault, but Kerr is probably gone so Rogers could save money on PBP.

Kirsh is the guy. With all due respect, Nault is probably below the janitor on the org chart.
On the point, Kirsh needs to recognize he can't be a fill in guy for anything. He's suited at best to do a 2 minute remote from the hot tub store on a Saturday. He is brutal on air.

Well that was close to 2 years ago too. From what I know about radio it wouldn't surprise me if it was true then.

The Fan 960 goes by ratings, if ratings dictated more NFL/NBA/MLB talk then there would be more NFL/NBA/MLB talk.
Also, not sure how often you listen, but there is always a fair amount of NFL/CFL/MLB talk when the sports are in season.
