For what it's worth I've curled for 25 years and I liked the call by Norway. If he gets just a little more curl Jacobs has a pretty tough shot to get his one. It's a shot Ulsrud usually makes.

Sure, but I don't expect any of the other teams at the bottom (US, Denmark, Germany, Russia) to be competitive either. There is usually a pretty big gap between the top teams and the also rans internationally.

Man, what a shot to end it.

Great result.

Another great shot to end the game. Best game so far for them, in my opinion.

Ya, if it gets buried behind the guard its a draw for one. On the other side, depending where it ends up, you almost guarantee the two, possibly more. Given that his draws were pretty much on, I would probably have gone that way too.

I thought it was greedy. Freeze to the pile and force jacobs to 1. No need to steal especially when a poor shot leads to 4

If you overcurl or are light/heavy on the freeze you'd still give up four. He wasn't really playing for a steal so much as forcing Jacobs to play a soft weight shot in order to not roll. An argument can be made for either call, they just had to make whichever they chose.

This China/Sweden game has been pretty entertaining. Looks like Sweden is about to win it.

Jacobs had to make a double for 4. Keep the yellows far apart

Good win for Sweden. China seemed to give them all that they could handle.

This race could be a bit tricky later on if it softens too much. I already see some soft patches developing.

Only Canadian in the super combined, Morgan Pridy, back approximately 3 seconds after the downhill portion. Wasn't expected to be a factor in these Olympics and looks like he won't be in this event.

CBC was gloating about Bodie Miller and Ted Ligety from the States and they really did not impress either.

As a small comment on the Women's curling standings, after looking at all the match-ups, I think whoever wins the China/Switzerland game on the 17th will determine who gets 4th place. The nice thing is with Sweden winning again today and Great Britain with three more easy games, 4th place might truly be 4th place which would give Canada a great shot at getting to the gold medal game. I have to agree with Joan McCusker talking about the lack of repechage. It's one thing that bugs me about the winter games is how there's no reward for these long tournaments, everything is one and done. But repechages are how most international tournaments are, and what is the point of playing 9 curling matches, going 9-0, losing once and then having no shot at playing back into it?

On the Men's side, I really hope we beat Great Britain tomorrow. Really don't want to have to play (likely) Sweden to get to the gold medal game.

Yeah, it's too bad he let in the lone goal in the whole game. Kinda boring game at 1-0 for Sweden, but Berra was stellar.

Agreed but the Olympics are so tight. They have to get a mens and womens event in in 10 days. Not like the Brier next month where they have 10 days to do just a mens event.
