I just miss the YAAAAAAAAA....HOOOOOO after goals! (or at least I haven't noticed it the past few games I've been to)
Maybe we will hear it tonight, Western Night? I like it too and I think it would work well with Righteous Smoke following, but, yeah, I don't think we've heard it this year.
My fan suggestion for the new goal song was from The Dark Knight. I hate the one they picked.
It's horrific. It's generic loud rock noise. There's no emotion behind it or anything, and the attempt to create some sort of connection with the fanbase is so transparent and lame that it sucks the energy out of the celebration.
Yes I'm being a judgy bitch. But if you ever wonder why you don't feel as excited as you think you should after a goal, I'm just trying to help explain why.

On the contrary you don't sound bitchy at all. At least I think so.
I totally get you in the sense that the goal song needs to have emotional backing behind it. I had a more elaborate thought process behind my choice than "Omg this would sound cool being blasted over the PA lulz'.
Original motion scores, if done well, capture the moment and atmosphere - including emotion. I always want my team to play with emotion.
See, I picked my goal song for two reasons:
1.) The title of the track ("Aggressive Expansion") matched the theme of our new growing team just in the opening act of a likely lengthy rebuild. Plus the whole Burke truculence thing & all.
2.) I also thought about what a team needs to feel like after a goal. I felt like the song needed to say "good job, good hustle, now get your head back in the game and focus on the next one". If we're down 2-0 in the 3rd and cut the deficit to 1, I wanted the team to have the energy and resolve to charge all the way back.
(0:16 to 0:44)

Then rather than using an offensive way of doing so, why not simply say "I don't like it - it sucks"?
(Or perhaps, more intelligently, offer a constructive solution.)
Seriously, relax. As dumb as it is, wishing death upon something or someone has become such a harmless phrase. The guy didn't mean it literally, chill.
But for real, I hope that organ burns to the ground.
Probably because he didn't expect a silly little figure of speech to be taken so literally?
Christ man just stop.
No thanks.
I appreciate your position and opinion. I just don't happen to agree.
As an adult, I work to model humanity and integrity. And respect.
The comment made does none of the above and personally, I think it demeans the entire website. It's the same sentiment that gives rise to equating bullying (e.g.) to "just having fun". It's equally "silly". And equally disrespectful.
Why can't we raise the level of dialogue above that of "silly"?

As a self-righteous "adult", I work to model humanity and integrity and respect, while ensuring I instruct anyone who doesn't adhere to my personal level of acceptable behaviour that they are wrong.
The comment made does none of the above and personally, I don't like it. I don't understand varying levels of humour, so I seek to label them as disrespectful or abusive, because it further validates my need to feel morally superior to other people on a message board. I don't like silly things, because I'm an adult and adults should never be silly or present any sort of humour that isn't high brow and filled with respectful language.
One of my personal favourite jokes is "Hey you! You look average today! Haha just kidding my friend, you look great." I get tickled by it.
Why can't we raise the level of dialogue above that of "silly"?
Agreed. I don't think either are played anymore. It's all being taken over by techno/EDM.
Sadly the warmup skates just aren't the same anymore. The new background track is just noise in comparison. There isn't the same energy that follows the team entrance, which used to be all kinds of awesome.
