I still think the Oilers lose tonight, but I hope they go on a useless end of the season run so their fanbase starts parade planning for next year. It will make their inevitable death spiral next year even funnier.

So you have the canucks, who have 1 shot on goal in half of the 3rd period against the worst team in the NHL.

And then you have the Oilers, who invent ways to lose games.

Be interesting to see how this one turns out.

That was nuts. Can't believe it went on there for like a good 20 seconds after Bryz made the initial save.

Maybe I'm a bit on my own in thinking this, but when the refs deliver the decision over the microphone, the delivery just feels incredibly awkward. NFL refs deliver the verdict with certainty and formulated answers, but in the NHL I'm half expecting their voice to crack.

Perron hits the empty net, camera pans to the crowd showing a young canucks fan standing up and flipping off Oilers fans with both birds.

Classy bunch.

Too bad they both couldn't lose. On the bright side, the Kings/Sharks game was quite entertaining.

If it wasn't possible for both teams to lose, I prefer this outcome. The Canucks have to have some self-doubt after this.

You can't even call the Canuck's paper tigers since they don't even appear to be a threat anymore, maybe paper geese or something.

But I'm sure with Torts and Henrik they'll be back to Stanley Cup favourites once again, especially if the league stops picking on them.

MacT has made a lot of dumb moves but that Perron trade was a nice deal for the Oilers.

“@TeamCanadaGM: Lowe just called, wants Perron added to the replacement list, I told him no tinted visors and hung up”
