Sarich would have looked better on that bottom pairing this season.

He's actually been better than I thought he would but still not good.

I liked how he stood up for his team mate (can't remember who) when he was cheap shotted.

This is yet another sign that the Flames have no intentions of tanking for a higher draft pick.

If this was the Oilers, Sob would be getting 25 minutes a night (although he can't be that much worse than what they're working with now).

Only concern is that smid is the only physical dman left, although sob played soft Wideman, Russell, Gio and Brodie are all small puck movers - that's a d that's going to get bullied by the bigger teams out there.

Going forward you'd have to think one of them will get moved and some size brought in. The 6th ufa guy Butler isn't tough or a good puck mover and as much as I would have liked to see him suceed, breen has sucked.

Makes me wonder if instead of picks stempniak and/or cammy get moved for young dmen.

Yeah, I defended it as a push for a long time, but it's obviously a worse deal for us. They unloaded total garbage on us.

Burke knows what he is doing. When he was the Ducks GM in 2007, he traded O'Brien to the Lightning for a 1st round pick and proceed to win the cup.

In Burke I trust!

Ironically the player that's had the biggest impact out of that deal is Sarich.

Feaster gave up a first round pick for Shane O'Brien. Unbelievable.

I still don't understand how David Jones ever got a 4 million dollar contract. That has to be one of the worst deals in the league.

Such a plug.

And while not the same player as SOB... i assume Smith or Billins would be the replacement and not Breen who showed he was no where near ready. Smith isn't great but he Nik Lidstrom compared to Breen.

Funny thing is it will almost be an asset to this team next year. Hitting the cap floor could be tough next year if they ship out a couple vets at the deadline.

But ya agreed, he has to be one of the most overpaid players I've ever seen. Feaster seemed to get boned on most trades.

To think, i've seen posts in the last couple of weeks saying that they thought SOB was alright. Glad management is smarter then them.

Posters talk about not getting enough for Iggy and JBO, but i think the order of bad trades last year for Feaster went:

JBO
Tanguay
Iggy

If Klesla, whose actually proven he can play a good shut down defence game on more then one occasion, is passed over at that price then O'Brien doesn't stand a chance.

Better defence have passed through. So hopefully Burke has a trade planned otherwise we will have a $2M player in Abbotsford.
