I don't think so. Boring Sean Monahan is a good speller and has good sentence structure. That strikes me as something that O'Brien doesn't have.

I assumed Hartley was really enraged by the twitter account from the subject of this thread.

I've always just assumed that @boringSeanMonahan was actually written by Monahan himself.

It's actually Burke that runs the account.

I could see Backlund running the account, they seem to have a little bit of a running feud where they take jabs at one another.

I think mcgratton is behind it, when I first saw it, he was the only person the account followed. Which I guess is a bit flimsy but w/e that's just my gut feeling

The best part of this is the shot Hudler takes with:

"At least he tries to be"

That's awesome to see the veterans giving the rookie a bit of grief and a healthy amount of disrespect. I get the sense that we have a fairly tight room this year.

The NHL has a rule that you cannot use social media from 2 hours before the start of a game until after the post-game interviews are completed. I bring this up, as Boring Monahan tweeted:

Boring Sean Monahan ‏@boringmonahan

I thought coach Tortorella was coming into our dressing room to say hi but he wasn't.

This tweet was posted at 8:56 pm PST, which makes it either in the 1st intermission or early in the second period I think. If the account is run by one of the players, O'Brien was out of the game at that time. I'd bet against him though, as the word pattern is too different from Shane's. Parody accounts have trouble keeping up the same schtick over the long haul, and a lot of them revert to a different writing style closer to their own.

Boring's tweet on January 6th when he scored was done 46 minutes after his 1st period goal and was in the first intermission. His tweet on December 31 was 26 minutes after his 2nd period goal in that game and was during the intermission. O'Brien was playing both nights.

The tweet during the Vancouver game is the reason I said it is likely O'Brien if it's anyone on the team. Any of the other likely suspects would have been playing at the time.

They just had a segment on the morning news about @boringseanmonahan. They interviewed a bunch of players. Everyone is trying to figure out who it is. McGrattan denies it is him, but Colborne said he believes he knows who it is, but would only say he suspects one of the trainers/equipment managers, and wouldn't name names.

Apparently the twitter account is pretty popular in the locker room.

That tone wouldn't be THAT tough to keep. If you put thought into how you worded every tweet that would be pretty easy to keep up. It's just stating things in a really blunt way and for some reason I find it hilarious.

I find it absolutely hilarious.

A lot of good stuff in there.

Didnt' SOB play the whole Vancouver game?

I'm sure most Canuck fans will point to SOB ducking Kassian the whole game.
