An absolute embarrassment to the organization. I have no problem with him picking a fight or sending out goons to start the game. But to cower and hide is disgusting. How can any player respect him after that. How can he expect any player to put their body on the line for the team when their leader cant even stand up for himself. I don't expect him to get physical in any way, but the least he could do is face up to his actions.

lol

Here comes "mustache ride" and his anti-Hartley agenda.

What did Hartley do to you? You must know him in real life to hate him this much.

Good thing he was neither. It'd be embarrassing to claim otherwise.

I loved how he handled it torts is going crazy yelling at him from the bench and hartley doesn't even look at him and trys to stop his players from engaging with the canucks bench. The fact that he was ignoring torts probably is what made torts go to their dressing room and probably get himself suspended.

And possibly get suspended? I'm a fan of fighting the good fight, but taking the high road here was definitely the thing to do. Lets torts dig his hole

Hit actions, you mean like coaching? Oh yea what Torts did totally proved he's the man, going on a lunatic fringe and likely ending up putting his team in a position to play with no head coach. You do realize that Tortorella apologized and said he was "not proud" of what he did, right?

The man is lucky the Flames showed tremendous restraint, Tortorella could have easily been decked into next week if things had gone differently. Complete jackassery at the highest level, the way Hartley conducted himself was pure class in comparison.

The thing that separates bob I think from our previous coaches, is he seems be unbelievably confident. It's like the guy knows hes a winner even though hes coaching the worst team arguably ever assembled on paper.

Hartley beat Tortorella where it mattered. He outcoached him, and more importantly, wass mature enough to leave it on the ice.

I liked what happened last night from an entertainment perspective but last night's stunt isn't a team building maneuver and more a desperate sideshow act. Seeing the opposition was the Canucks everyone will turn a blind eye but this isn't something you want to put on your resume if you are Bob.

I just can't get over his over reliance on goons, often puzzling line combinations, and favouritism to some players. Just doesn't seem like a head coach that is with the times. I get that he's motivated the players more than not until recently but I don't see much of a tactician or a system builder. He's okay piloting the team in their current state of low expectations but I don't feel comfortable with him steering the ship long term as I don't see any greatness from him as he's a throwback coach that's a little out of his element at times in a league where some teams don't even dress goons nightly.

Hartley just might have bought himself an extra year in Calgary.
