Backlund was a raging bull and single handedly ripped that monkey off.
Sadly, the rest of the team was still 10 steps behind after that and couldn't do s### all to build on it.
Oh well. Good chance Ekblad is in Flames silks at the draft, I'd say.

Wow. A goal. So I'm thinking the parade should begin at the Stampede grounds and head down Macleod, then up Sixth and back down Ninth? Should Nenshi or Bettman be the Marshall?

Backlund looked outstanding tonight! I still can't believe how many people were ready to ship him out of town a month ago. Since he's actually been given more minutes with better line mates, he's been our best forward IMO...
The Flames showed great push-back and actually had a decent game against a much better opponent. I can live with the 1 goal hard fought losses. Getting shut-out by multiple goals repeatedly was getting really old...

Any other point in the season, and that's considered a really solid game for the Flames.
I wish the fans would wake up and try to help a bit.

Hudler: gets the puck, looks around for Monahan, tried to make an impossible pass.
He's got IggyTangs Syndrome.
Backlund played well, especially given his matchup assignment.
Wideman has been shaky ever since coming back from IR.
Berra was ok but not great. Not his fault on either goal IMO but he still loses his net and overplays the puck. Eventually, he will get burned.
The effort was there, and they weren't shut out (again) at least. It was an improvement.

Berra was good tonight. I think it was the Brodie and Gio pairing that had the Crosby duties and did a good job keeping him off the score sheet. Cannot ask for much more in that department.
Backlund played great all night. Monahan in the face off dot should help him sleep well tonight. Hudler's forcing the play a little too muchand made some terrible decisions in the third period. Maybe the only time I'll say this.....ever, Butler looked alright tonight.
Cammy was a listless ship out there before the gio hit. Then he woke up. Good sign and good team mate being the first guy in on a dude that would have wrecked him. Inspired play afterwards.

Backlund looked like a bonafide NHLer tonight.
Need to package that game up.
