White trash to the core, but I was always an unabashed apologist for her. She was the scrappy underdog from the wrong side of the tracks with raw talent and Kerrigan had the silver spoon background and the looks. No idea if that was true but it was how I liked to see it anyway.

There was really nothing wrong with Harding's looks at the time. Just a lot wrong with her head and environment.

But yeah...she definitely personified good ol' fashioned, American white trash.

I kind of assumed the same at the time, but according to Wiki that's not the case.

The Kerrigan family was of modest means. Kerrigan's father, a welder, sometimes worked three jobs to fund her skating career, and also drove the ice resurfacer at the local rink in exchange for Nancy's lessons.
