Yeah Hedman is a surprise. But that D-corps is mighty impressive.
Frig, that whole team is impressive. Likely be a Canada- Sweden semi's or Gold medal game IMO.

This team doesnt look a whole lot different from the 2010 team that didnt fare so well.
Dont get me wrong, its still one of the more impressive rosters but I think Sweden's fortunes could go either way.

That's essentially how I feel. It looks pretty good on paper, but the games have to be played and so on.

They're good names but:
Alfredsson - 41
Zetterberg - 33
Sedins - 33
Kronwall - 32
Tallinder - 34
Oduya - 32
Franzen - 34
Lundqvuist - 31
Thats a pretty old core of guys, granted they have a lot of excellent young guys to round it out, I think they're asking a lot out of some older players on big ice, older players who were fairly disappointing last time on smaller ice when they were younger.
Like I said before, it looks good, but it could go either way.

Hilariously, the one contending team without an obvious snub.

RT @SUNGilbertson: For those speculating he could be possible injury replacement, #Flames C Mikael Backlund says he is not on Sweden's reserve list for Sochi.

As well as he's played the last few weeks, there's no reason for Sweden to have him on that list. Let him enjoy the break.

This is not official but on hf boards I found someone who mentioned yesterday that this is their reserve list.
The Swedish list is Robin Lehner, Nicklas Grossman, Erik Gustafsson, Jonas Brodin, Staffan Kronwall, Patric Hörnqvist, Marcus Johansson, Gustav Nyquist.

Whats the storey behind Steen? He was born in Canada but did he grow up in Sweden?

Erik Karlsson is going to get eaten alive on the back end. Hes a Swedish Subban. Put him on your PP, but if you want him to take a regular shift against elite offensive players, he is going to get exposed time and time again.
