tampa is easily the surprise team of the year for me. They were questionable to begin with, then lose Stamkos for a lengthy period of time, but do very well inspite of this.

don't care about the result, hoping for a great performance. Glad stempniak is out of the lineup (realize it is due to illness). at first he just wasn't scoring after his injury, but now he's a pure liability on the ice out there.

I am happy to have wideman back, as weak as he is defensively, his breakout passes, and offensize zone instincts will hopefully help get this offense back on track.

GD Predictions:

-Tampa scores first and we tie it.
-Tampa scores and we tie it again.

3rd period Flames score but it's under 10 min of review while someone in the crowd starts a raucous "Fraser sucks!" chat.

Is it true that Stamkos is travelling with the team and participating in their practices?

That is insane to me. Anyone I know that has broken their leg couldn't walk without crutches by this time, let alone play hockey.

It's almost been 2 months, I agree it's quick but to say people wouldn't be walking now is a bit of a stretch.

Pat Steinberg@Fan960Steinberg1m

Lance Bouma questionable tonight. He's ill so not at practice this morning. #Flames

Pat Steinberg@Fan960Steinberg40s

Lee Stempniak, on the other hand, is back on the ice and good to go tonight. #Flames

It hurts to be saying things like this, but right now I'm more excited about the potential trades leading up to the deadline than the actual games... I'll be watching and cheering though!

I feel like Flames are going to play tougher but come up short 4-2 (EN) with Cammy and Backlund scoring.

Yeah remember the excitement we all had with the youth movement after the trade deadline last year. I'm missing that.
It sucks playing all the crappy veterans and scoring 1 goal in 3 games.

And even that 1 goal was scored by Monahan.

Bring up the youth! Bring up the youth!

Going to the game tonight. The last time I saw TB at the dome was... ugh, not even going to say it. Gotta try and keep it together

Too bad Stamkos is still out, was excited to see him play live. Hope the Flames can pot a few goals at least and get the offence going again.

Going to the game tonight. My alltime record is something like 22-7, with all those losses happening in the last 2 seasons. Here's hoping for a turn around. TB was one of my favorite teams as a kid, but for obvious reasons I now hate them with all my soul. I will be satisfied if the boys keep up the pace with them and score more then 2 goals. Here's hoping for an entertaining 5-3 win.

Tampa has been a fun team to watch this year.
I am not too optimistic of the Flames' chances, but I do like the look of the Wideman-Smid pairing as Wideman can be the answer to Smid's inability to move the puck up-ice.

I know it's been 10 years, and it's basically like holding a grudge against someone because his grandpa stole a pig from your grandpa, but I don't care, I will always hate these guys (even if St Louis is the only guy left on either team from 2004).

If Bouma is sick, Gelinas should just suit up for old-time's sake.

Bishop confirmed in net for the Bolts:

Tampa Bay Lightning@TBLightning55s

#TBLightning's starter in net tonight vs. the Calgary Flames is Ben Bishop.

I predict the 1st shutout of the season for the Flames, delivered on a silver platter by Karri Ramo.

The Lightning have been one of the few teams that have managed to succeed against the west this year (9-3-2 record) - some of those wins include LA, SJ, St. Louis and Anaheim so not the chump teams either. They play with speed that I don't think the Flames can match.
Calgary has had an annoying tendency to start slow, check out early or just plain not show up at all ever since November.

I'll be satisfied if the Flames score more than 1 goal.

4-2 TB, goals from Hudler and Brodie.
