The US playing some undisciplined hockey and the Russian pp is on fire. Can't see this going well for gillies

I think this US team would be hard pressed to play over .500 if they played a season in the CHL.

Russian player taunts US bench and wonders why he got clipped on the way by.
Funny how it didn't bother him until 15 seconds later. Acting like he has a toothache now.

The Russian taunted the bench but that was a dink move by the American. Do something on the ice to make a difference, not from the bench

Overall, the US was not good. Won very few puck battles and really the team has little skill to compensate for it.
They really missed Jones and Trouba.

Hartman won't be back next year... I would have done the same thing.
Greasy stuff by the Russians.

IIRC a couple of Russians taunted the Canadian bench after winning the bronze last year, no?
Not a very sportsmanlike bunch.

Taunting...who cares...you play hard to at times to rub it in the other teams face.
I only caught the last half of the 3rd period and wow...the US team looked horrible. I saw very little skill on that team.

Yes 5-3. (last goal was an empty netter).
Gillies wasn't great. First time really watching him... he's a good prospect but still needs work (like most goalies). Any talk of him jumping right into Calgary from the NCAA should be tempered though.

Russians have always been classless losers, even when they win.
One of these days, a taunting Russian is going to start a bench clearing brawl, or is going to lose some teeth rather than receiving a light tap for the idiot to play up as if he got shot in the face.
Frankly, that Russian will deserve it.

You could go back to any WJHC (and likely other tournaments) when the Russians are winning and find them with their classless taunting.
Hard to feel bad about a jackass who feels the need to do that after getting a lucky EN goal.

Idiots like Ovechkin routinely taunt their opponents at the world championships as well.
Diving, acting and taunting are engrained in the Russian hockey psyche. Even their midget teams do it when they come over for the Macs.

Does anyone really expect anything different from the Russians?

Definitely disappointing to see the US go out this early, and especially without Gillies having a great game. I was really hoping for a little more from him considering his play in college. Not a lot of help in front of him, but he's been built up to be a superman.
And as for the Russians...not really surprised. Some things don't change.

I know Russians are like that but to be honest so are Canadians, one of the dirtiest teams in Hockey.

Being bigger and stronger than the European teams not does make Canada dirty.
