I remember Boston trading away their best centre, he went on to have a pretty good career in San Jose. There are other top centres that have been traded and turned out pretty good, Carter and Richards for example, Seguin is doing well in Dallas. Not saying Kadri is comparable and I doubt we have the assets but if the deal is there you get it done.

Toronto is smart and Burke won't touch Kadri with a ten foot pole. Kid has way too much ego and smokes like a damn chimney. No thanks.

Guy Lafleur smoked during his shifts. Doesn't mean too much. Kipper smoked like a chimney as well.

Conditioning was not a huge deal in Lafleur's day neither. Kipper was a goalie, not the same cardio needed for a top line centre.

I don't see a great fit for a trade with Calgary. They want a top 4D. They probably want someone cheaper and younger then Wideman. Giordano isn't available. I don't think Brodie is enough or the type of D they are looking for.
That said Kadri would really help Calgary's C going forward. Burke is probably interested if the price is right.

The bag of pucks is 90% of the value in this scenario.

I could see Russell, Cammalleri and 2nd for Kadri and Gunnarsson. Seems like the type of deal that could go down.

I don't want Kadri. As mentioned we have alot of potential top line centres to sift through first.
Additionally, I don't like is attitude. I said it before, but he reminds me of Ribeiro junior.
No thanks.

Big name player on the trade block?
As per usual, obviously the Flames are the front runner to get him. Obviously.

The thought of Kadri gives me an overwhelming urge to roll up a newspaper and start hitting Burkie on the nose with it.
That's No Burkie. No. Bad dog.
Some upside, but downside like crazy. Big ego, some laziness on the ice. If a supposed disciplinarian like Carlyle is ready to throw in the towel, why buy trouble?

I hate Mike Ribeiro with a passion but if Kadri turns into a player like him then you make an offer for him.

It is a Flames board do you think we should talk about what it would take Philly to get him?
And we do have the GM that drafted him on our payroll which could make us bigger players than normal.

Sure. But several people in this thread need to stop pretending that "Kadri for guys I don't like and want to get rid of" comes remotely close to realistic. If you want to propose a trade for Kadri (or anyone else one has a hard-on for), start with something you don't want to give up.

I just want to see Burke pull off some trades that involve decent roster guys coming in and garbage/spare parts going out, instead of the other way around.
We all know he's going to pull the trigger, it's just a matter of time.
Will it be Kadri? Possible.

I have mentioned a couple times that he is a guy I would love to pick up and take a bunch of heat. Perhaps the Kadri haters havent joined the thread yet but I am pleasantly surprised at CPs interest in him.
Burke kept a guy like Kadri who has a chip on his shoulder in check. I want young guys with that edge to their game on the flames.
Same goes with Evander Kane...he has his issues but could be stolen this trade deadline for what I believe will be a elite guy in a few more years!

LOL my thoughts exactly.
Kadri is a highly skilled player, the kind Calgary does not have many of... is he worth a) the cost in a trade? and b) the potential chemistry issue?
there is the chance a trade forces the kid to grow up a little...or he could remain a me-first type of player...
Calgary would have to give up a young prospect to get Kadri (who is also young)... who knows, but it will be interesting to see what happens.

What has Kadri's role been like this year. Looking at his stat line it looks like he has regressed since last year, is that due to a decreased role? Or has he just under performed?

Right now Kadri is better than all of those players that you listed, and with perhaps the exception of Monahan, has a higher ceiling than all of those guys too. You don't not make a deal for a player because you already have a number of inferior players for that position. That just doesn't make any sense.
