Maybe this is the year the Canadian program gets a kick in the ass.

I thought it was a pretty obvious penalty. Drouin jumped, there was nothing clean about that hit.

And it costs Canada

It was a penalty, but with how the Slovak player ducked his head I don't believe it should have been 2 and a 10.

Fucale serves up a juicy rebound on an easy shot almost puts us down 2-0.

International play with international Referee's ...they call anything that is considered reckless play...marginal or not.

It does not matter if he ducked or not, gloves to the head and the helmet came off, the official made the right call based on IIHF rules.

Isn't it automatic in international hockey? Any hit to the head is 2 + 10?

I don;t understand this team.

Gautheir-Laughton-Anderson just dominated the Slovaks by holding on to the puck and beating their guys one on one, now every other line wants to make stupid backhand passes to the middle of ice.

So many stupid, unneccesary passes.

Why did Ekblad just throw it away there?

No pressure and nobody there. At least put it in the corner if you are just going to toss it away.

I get all that, but as I said based on how the Slovak player ducked (which absolutely should matter) it wasn't an intentional hit to the head. It was a high hit with his hands up, and 9 times out of 10 in that situation it's elbowing/roughing and only 2 minutes.

Moving on...

Still playing like an all-star team... no one wants to be selfish and fire the puck and win down low.

Hey Petan shoot the puck if you are in the slot like that.

He has been terrible so far.

Brent Sutter team ... stupid drop passes? It sounds so familiar.

Weak shots from way out that don't even hit the net, over and over and over. Just embarrassing.
