To be fair, I was reading an article on the weather network website the other day and they are predicting a warmer than usual winter.

Thinking back...we didn't really have too much of a winter last year. I only remember like one week of really painfully cold days...and spring seemed like it came a whole lot earlier.

You have a bad memory, this winter deffinately was painfully cold. I'd never pulled out the plug for my block heater until this winter.
Agreed. It was brutally cold some days last winter especially when my car was in the shop for over a month waiting for parts after an accident. It took me a week to get my loaner car so I rode the bus during an extra cold snap... [/b][/quote]
I dunno. There was like 2 weeks tops of -30ish weather. I do remember that spell because people on the trains were huddling together to conserve body heat. I DO remember that, but the rest of the winter was mild at best. Maybe I was hibernating and missed something. The two weeks were rather brutal, but I thought it was alot better than past winters. All I know is I got out to the hills to board alot more often then usual because I wasn't freezing my ass off.

Plus, the year before on May long weekend there was still snow up to my waist in the trees at Maclean's creek and this year was just alot wetter.

I spent two weeks in Mexico this summer in late July. I thought I was going to miss out on a great Calgary summer. But now that I hear the weather wasn't that great, I'm glad I went and got some real sun!

I was up in Edmonton last winter, and the books inside of my backpack had frost forming on them. The necktube I was using started iced up where the mouth/nose was, and the zipper on my jacket was almost froozen. Oh, and this after only 10 minutes outside.

Beat that

Ever had your moustache frozen solid simply by being outside for 5 minutes?

I don't mind cold by most people's standards. But I think cold means a very different thing in Alberta/Saskatchewan than it does to ooooh lets say a Vancouverite or an Ontarian.

I can handle having to wear gloves and a toque..it's when my snot freezes in my nostrils and my toes are so cold they feel bruised that I think mother nature has crossed the line. I hate driving home at night during January. My car takes like an hour to warm up and it always seems somehow colder to have to drive than it does to just assume the fetal position and burrow into your coat in the passenger seat.

Nope, I'm too baby faced to have enough facial hair to grow a beard/mostache/gotee. Maybe when I grow older...

Generally, I don't mind the cold - I actually like winter (love to ski and such) but when it starts dropping below -50, then reaching -60 I perfer to be inside. Around -30 is good enough for me.

I think your summer came to Vancouver.

Until VERY recently, we have had nothing (and I mean nothing else) but clear, sunny conditions with a temperature of around 25 - 30 celsius each day. Very hot and very dry.

Looks like we traded your hot/dry weather for our cool/rainy weather...!

I have been trying to paint my fence all summer!!! I am ready to leave it for another year.

We have had a brutally wet summer. I am not a fan of really hot days but some sunshine would be nice.
