Fisher is the only one open on the south side as far as staging areas go. You can camp up that hill but everything as far as "offroad" trails at the top of that hill they are pretty much dirtbike only so unfortunately you will not be able to do any "wheelin" anyways.

Gotcha. Do you think a bone stock 4runner can make it up that hill you refer to right now?

I'm not really looking to do any wheelin'...the 'runner is completely stock, with no recovery gear, and nobody to pull me out.

If people with stock trucks pulling travel trailers can go up the hill you should be ok. There is probably a snow rut going up the hill anyways I would not be too concerned.

The Point Campground at Upper Kananaskis Lake is nice (http://www.albertaparks.ca/peter-lou...d=st-camp:6895)

I winter camped there last year, it's a nice ~5km snowshoe in. Last year there was supplied firewood and some already constructed quinzhees we were able to use (nice treat!). Felt like a good intro the winter camping.
