Why can't you cheer both? You can be both a fan of the Flames, and an Iginla fan. One doesn't have to rule out the other. I will cheer for Calgary, but I will also cheer if Iginla scores. Why not?
People were screaming "SHOOT" for Gretzky's last game here. He was the face of the enemy for a very long time. Pretty sure it is ok to cheer Iginla on.

People take things way too seriously sometimes.
Go Iggy.

Like several others, I want a Flames win first and an Iggy goal second. Just so I can hear the announcement and see/hear the crowd reaction.
This is the Boston Bruins we're talking about...a win would make my night FAR more than an Iggy goal.

Take what too seriously? Wanting their favorite team to win?
I love Iginla, but will always cheer for a Flames win, sorry if that's taking things "too seriously"

I want to see Iginla play well. Not only tonight, but for years to come. He never should have left in the first place. Stupid Flames.
I betcha Beesley isn't allowed to say Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaroooooome Iginla. Too bad.

Iginla gave the Flames permission to trade him. Its not like the Flames forced him out of Calgary, they even gave him up until the last minute to pick the team he wanted to go, hence the Boston/Pittsburgh fiasco. It was the right move for both parties, imo.

All true. I'm talking more about the mis management of the roster that led to the Flames becoming a bottom feeder team. Which in turn led to the trade.
If the Flames had stayed a contending team, Iginla is still a Flame. Stupid Flames.

I really really wish I had tickets to the game. I will be cheering on the Flames. If Iginla pots a goal or two, I would him cheer him as well.
Hopefully the crowd is electric.

I'm going to cheer for him one final time for 2-3 minutes during the highly probable standing ovation he will get. After that, he's just another one of the enemy team. Still my favourite player of all time, but I just can't cheer against the Flames.

Let me get this straight the question is:
Should a Flames Fan cheer for a none Flames player playing for the opposition during a Flames game.
The answer is: No

I will cheer for Iginla when he is announced and welcomed. There it ends.
I hope Flames win by a large margin.

I wonder if Iggy scores. Will the announcers pull out the old JAAAROOME IGINLAAA?
