Jagr gets his ninth of the year in O.T.

He is still a beast and could probably play for at least 3 more years.

The Blues win 3-2 in the SO over the Bruins. Late in reg time and OT, both teams were playing wide open with break aways. It was fun to watch. The win puts the Blues in 2nd place in the west, tied with the Sharks and Ducks. The Bruins stay on top in the east. The Red Wings on home ice beat the Hurricanes 4-3 in reg time. This was their first win in 8 home games and 7 overall. It seems very early goals to start games are happening of late, Detroit scored 17 seconds into the game. The Flyers are improving as they beat the Sabres 4-1. Once again, it was Miller time as he kept the score respectable, he stopped 42 of 45 shots. Nashville wins it 3rd in a row, 4-2 over the Leafs. Kadri was back in the Leafs lineup after serving his suspension. The Predators goalie factory is amazing as Maranec is keeping his team afloat with Rinne injured. The Bhawks defeat the Jets 6-3 as Toews gets 4 points in the game. The Rangers win 3-2 in reg time over the Stars. Lundqvist faced 43 shots and was solid in the 1st period as Dallas fired 23 shots on him, the Rangers only had 6 on Lehtonen. The Avs beat the Coyotes 4-3 in OT. O'Reiley scores the GWG and Varlamov stops 41 shots in the win. The stupid Oilers win their 3rd straight, 4-1 over the Panthers. Get the parade route ready. The Sharkies bite the Lightning 5-1. Marleau and Couture each had 3 points. Lots of shots here, 37-36 for SJ. The Devils win their 2nd straight game in OT, 2-1 over the Kings. I wonder how many road teams have won in OT in Anaheim and LA on consecutive nights? It was Scheneider who was the main reason the Devils won, the Kings outshot the Devils 35-15. The GWG by Jagr the ageless wonder ties him with Mario Lemieux on the career goal list with 690 goals.

Oilers on a winning streak now. Clearly this is a sign of the apocalypse.

They actually played pretty well yesterday, at least to their standards. A lot of energy and good work ethic. Still soft as butter though and Yakupov still trying to 1vs5 as usual.

Nah, they do this every year. They go one some extended streak that gets everyone frothed up into a 80s redux fantasy, and fans start ironing their nice Tasmanian Devil sweatpants in anticipation of a playoff run. Then when they are just within sight of 8th, the team collapses, and inevitably starts focusing on what really matters....the lottery pick.

The good thing is that usually this streak alone will be enough to extend Kevin Lowe's job for another year.
