We allowed two players to control the entire game, which is ridiculous. I think it shows a lack of a true top D-pairing. We should theoretically be able to keep up with the Dallas Stars.

It's still really early, and like they say what comes around is all around. Other teams with slower camps are getting into form, and our early season pikeological stuff is starting to wear off.
You can't blame the defense considering the loss of Giordano, and I have a hundred dollars for to say we would have at least two more wins with him in the lineup. It's also tough to claim that the defense are being too passive, since it's not as easy to get two birds stoned at once as you might think.

Either way, we all know the flames were going to have a rough year - it's survival of the fitness out there. But at least we're still better than the Oilers. That team will never accomplish a thing until Kevin Lowe makes like a tree and fata's off.

I'm sure the defense would take the blame for the loss but the goalies already took it. And they're friends so they've gotta let them take it because they're friends.

Well as sad as things were in Calgary tonight, it was nice to see the Canucks steal defeat from the claws of victory.

Let the battle for a basement position commence with the Oilers on Saturday.
I honestly think the Oilers should be eliminated from the 2014 draft as they stand to upset the Flames.

The other teams have caught up in their conditioning and the Flames aren't surprising them. Goaltending and D was atrocious tonight.

I do not know what people were expecting. This is a first year rebuild project that has multiple personnel weaknesses, Bad defence, below average forwards and goaltenders.
Working and competing hard has allowed them some minimal success and watching them has been tolerable,at times exciting.. They will have many more nights like this over the next few seasons.

Tough deal. Lots of learning, growing, evaluating and gathering many draft picks....and repeat.

Not easy to stomach but needs to be done right.

As Ken Hitchcock said, " keep a third, change two thirds". For 2 or 3 seasons.

Well according to the rules of supply and command, reliable top 3 defensemen are very tough to acquire. We're really missing Gio. Our defense just doesn't have the depth to sustain any significant injures.

Whoosh! I'm surprised at the amount of people not knowing about TPB.
In the worst case ontario, at least we will not be as bad as Edmonton.

After the game last night, I think Jim Lahey metaphors might be more appropriate - sailing into the eye of the s***icane and so forth.
