I was there in August and had no intention of ever going there before. Boy was it a good time. Between that an Iceland, I'm not sure which one I enjoyed more. One thing I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend you stay at Miami International Travellers Hostel. It's the only time I've ever stayed at a hostel in my life, but it was totally worth it. They have all 3 meals included if you want it; they organize clubs/bars every night along with predrinking activities before the clubs so that you can meet everyone there - transportation was even included to the clubs. Plus, it's in the dead centre of where the action is. Again, I'd highly recommend it. It was very hot and crammed in the rooms in August (6 ppl to a room), but it was apparently voted the best hostel in North America. I had great roommates the entire time and there were a crazy amount of girls in the hostel (that wouldn't help you in this case). Great friendly atmosphere and was much better than the times I went to Vegas because of people being so friendly. As for places to get booze, Wal-Greens was the best place in South Beach to get it. Remember that. A 1.75L of JD was under $40. Just an idea of what you're in for.
