You are correct, but I am referring to long distance flights aka 'flying south for the winter'. Even then, I am sure there are exceptions to the general rule.

I am sure if they are flying above your house to crap on your car, they can do it by themselves.

We generally don't get migrating Canada geese this far south, but there is one living in a pond with a bunch of ducks in a subdivision here. And yes, he can fly.

And he yaks at the ducks a lot too. Hilarious.
