Big win for Texas over UNC. Have another tough one with Michigan State on Saturday, don't expect a win there but hopefully we can hang.

I mean what more can be said?

Southern 116 Champion Baptist College 12 (57-6; 59-6)

Champion Baptist (http://www.championbaptist.com/) went 3-44 (6%) from the field, and Southern amazingly only shot 59%. Of course they also had 29 offensive rebounds.

Those 2 teams shouldn't be playing against each other, but there's no real excuse for going 3-44 from the field.

#8 and undefeated Wichita State opens up Conference play tonight against the Southern Illinois Salukis.

Will be very interested to see how this team does early in the Valley schedule.

Shockers up to #6 in the poll. Play Illinois State tonight. Watched them against Northern Iowa on Sunday. They're starting to put 40 minutes of great basketball together now. They look fantastic.

Watched Kansas and San Diego State as well. KU is soft. They got out muslced by that big athletic SDSU team. Joel Embiid, however, is a man child. That kid is awesome, especially considering he's only played organized basketball for 3 years. Wiggins isn't ready and shouldn't enter the draft.

Embiid is going to be the #1 pick next year. Once teams get a look at him, and realize he's only been playing basketball for 3 years, and look at his potential, he'll be #1. I keep seeing a pretty incredible name for his potential: Hakeem. Yeah, thats pretty damn good.

Did you say Hakeem or Hasheem?

Hard to see Embiid as the top pick. Very arguable that his upside is as high as the big 3 and no doubt his floor is way, way below any of them.

I think it is Wiggans or Randle as number 1 depending on who gets the top pick. I think Parker stays for another year and Embiid goes around 5 to a team willing to take a huge risk on him.

Suggesting he's close the Thabeet is pretty insulting. His offensive game is at least 10 times better than Thabeet's, which consisted of using his athleticism and then...? Embiid can play back to the basket and more importantly facing the basket. Only Wiggins has more potential, and I'm not even sure its potential more than it is hype. So far he's been underwhelming. And while that may be harsh, blame Carmelo and Kevin Durant for being freshman megastars. They've changed the expectation level of elite recruits.

Not just me saying this either, but scouts and GMs. Several GMs say they have Embiid ranked #1. Big guys with elite skills are still the easiest way to a title.

So, Wichita State is now #5 in the AP poll after moving to 17-0 at Missouri State on Saturday night. Down by 18 at the half, and by 19 with under 12 minutes to play, the Shockers came back to win the game in OT.

WSU gets Bradley and a very good Indiana State team at home this week. Go Shocks!

Huge game for Wichita State coming up here in 10 minutes. So wish I could watch, but alas I am at work. GO SHOCKERS!

Will be fun to see the highlights as they have "Striped the Roundhouse" for this game....alternating sections wearing black or yellow. Looks like a Wichita State casino chip on paper!

Too funny. Villanova leapfrogs Wichita State in the AP poll and then get destroyed at home by former Missouri Valley foe Creighton. Blue Jays were 21/35 from 3-pt land. Ethan Wragge hit his first 7 treys.

In the first half he had 24 points and didn't dribble it once.
EDIT: He has only taken 6 2-pointers all year!

Going to the Florida Bama game tonight with a big free sky walker sign. The NCAA is a joke holding this kid out

Wichita State is going to be a victim of a very down MVC come seeding time. I gotta imagine even 1 loss probably will cost them a #1 seed, not that that really matters of course.

Yeah, it very well could. Indiana State is decent, but they were supposed to be better than they are. Wichita State beat them by 20 in Wichita last week. That game in Terre Haute and the game in Cedar Falls against Northern Iowa are the two toughest left. The departure of Creighton has left a very large void in the conference.

BTW....did anyone see Tekele Cotton's dunk last night? Made the Sports Center top 10. I'd love to post it but I can't from work. Incredible for a 6' 2" guy.

Wichita State got leapfrogged in the AP poll again, settling in at 4th 1 vote behind Florida.

#3 in the coaches poll.

21-0 and I'm starting to think they have a very legitimate shot at being undefeated on Selection Sunday. Would that get them a 1 seed? Not sure.

Doug Gotlieb doesn't think so and made the point that they only have 1 top 50 RPI win (@ St Louis #24). They actually have 3 (Indiana State #45 and BYU #47) and another that could be top 50 (Tennessee #53) by the time Selection Sunday rolls around.

I'm not sure what will happen, but I'm having a ton of fun and this is a very nice distraction from the Flames rebuild!
