The Blues lead 3-2 with under two minutes left in the third period.
Selanne scores! Anaheim leads 1-0.

Almost looked like his right skate hit Leopold's skate. Hopefully he's alright. Looked awkward and painful.

That was one of the weirdest goals I've ever seen. It looked like Penner was trying headbutt the puck, but he was actually moving out of the way of it as it floated over his head and in.

Why did Winnipeg only use Olli as their 7th shooter?

Some nice goals in the shootout in Anaheim.
Ducks win the SO 4-3 for their 6th win in a row.

Thatīs what I thought too. OJ has been a pretty decent in shootouts, would think he would be a bit higher on the depth chart.

Perry, Selanne and Silvferberg went all high glove on Smith and scored. Even nicer ones with the the Phoenix shooters I think.
Great shootout.

Five Pacific Division teams in the top half of the League standings, and currently hold both wild-cards with the Flames in the #3 slot. This is easily, far and away the toughest division in hockey; it is likely to be a long, long time before either the Flames or the Oilers make the playoffs again.

Seasons not even 10% in... Let the games play out a little more before we doom and gloom too much about a possible super division. Things do look a little daunting tho I agree

No doom and gloom here. The way I look at it, this was to be expected all along, since most everyone here believes that the Flames are at least three years out. But this is great news for the fact that the Oilers are now EXPECTED to start competing for the playoffs.
And while it is early, quick starts are REALLY important, and three of the five top teams in the Pacific Division have made appearances in the conference finals in the past three years. It is NOT too early to recognise how truly excellent this division is.

I haven't really looked at the standings so far this season. I was surprised the Flames are not in the top 8, even with the games in hand. The Oilers, on the other hand... Someone did the math and figured that the Oilers will have to play 0.622 hockey the rest of the way to make the playoffs (his cutoff is 95 points).
