I would perfer the idea of tossing the money at a free agent defensemen rather than forwards. Unfortunately next year there is much available in the top pairing department unless you count Phaneuf as a top pairing guy. I don't think we need to overpay a forward yet.

No way they would sign with us anyways.

Honestly, I would take one of them (likely Henrik as he is a center), but not both.

They are both good players and great in the community, but they just lack jam and are too passive. A lot of good players are like that, but you can't make your team to heavy with them.

The Sedins are great players no doubt, but the Flames seem to be trying to get faster and grittier. Hank and Dank are slow and soft.

Gillis would be pretty foolish to let his two best players walk for nothing. Can't see them leaving Vancouver.

I wonder if Holmgren and Sather are going to try to throw ridiculous money at them. Without knowing their full cap situation for next year, I don't even know if it's possible. But if it is, you know they would be the first in line to try to sign the sisters.

To me this would only make sense for the flames if the following were to be in place:

. The flames have a bona Fidel number one goalie, but he would have to be in the middle of the salary scale, could likely not be a $6m per year guy
. The flames would have to be about 3 full seasons further along on the reload
. You would have to be able to get the sisters for not much more than a total commitment of around $16 million and hope they are still productive for thier time here

Why would you want the Sedins for two years after getting a shot at McDavid?

Never. Even if they offered to play for free. Never.

Don't need to spend on top 6 forwards. There are a few good defencemen that are UFAs in 2014 that the flames could go after... Guys like Matt Greene, Dan Girardi, and brooks Orpik. I would rather over pay for guys like that on 2-3 year deals.

Seems too much of a filler for the flames and a step in the wrong direction with the youth movement. Though, I think they could compliment a team that's in win-now as a second line.

It would be worth it alone, for all the delicious Canuck fan tears, and the inevitable riot it would cause.

And it would make up for the time Andrew Cassells signed with them.

I love the Sedins and I think they are great players and all, but I kind of hope the Canucks don't re-sign them.

I am one of the few fans that realize that the Canucks window is closed and the blinds are almost down. I have seen what has happened in Calgary and don't want that too happen here, but I am afraid it is going to. Of course I will cheer loud and want them to win, but deep down I know it is just hurting us.

Us Canucks fans used to be able to make fun and laugh at all the Flames lack of prospects, but now it doesn't look that way anymore. Canucks had a decent draft this past year, but we need at least 2 more drafts where we can at least consider them having a deep prospect pool.

The Sedins signing here for big dollars would just go against everything that I would want for this team.

I would rather take my chances with the draft lottery for the slim chance of getting McDavid then sign the twins. That is what I was getting at.
