I agree with Drake -- good Canadian offensive linemen are always at a premium, and you can never have enough. So unless I have a bona fide Canadian star receiver (I don't consider Sinopoli to fall into that category), I go with the hoggie instead. Canadian receivers are replaceable -- heck, if Ottawa picks Sinopoli, that just opens the door for Parker (or Forzani, if he ever gets healthy) to fill that spot. Only Canadian receiver I would consider protecting is Arthur, but even he's a little iffy for me.

who besides Glenn is a UFA and might be traded before the draft? Is there somewhere that lists contracts or years left?

Interesting discussion because I have been under the impression that all 3 of the Stamps QB are under contract through next season.

I am sure Hufnagel will protect Sinopli over Arthur. I would. Like the other posters mentioned will be gone right away if he is not protected because of his connections with Ottawa. It might be different if he stayed as a QB though. Yes, hoggies are dime a dozen so if a good OLine is available for picking, Ottawa will pounce on him. There is a possibility we might lose Jon Gott since he can play both Centre position and Guard.

I'll go back to doing this now that the season is all but over for 2 teams and with the draft just weeks away, I might go back and redo BC after I rethink some things through in the next day or so. Meanwhile I'll do the teams playing in the GC in the next three days, I'll start with Saskatchewan:

QB:
Darian Durant

IMPORT DRAFT:
Weston Dressler*
Kory Sheets*
Xavier Fulton
Taji Smith
John Chick
Terrell Maze
Weldon Brown
Tyron Brackenridge
Rod Williams

Devin Tyler

Ottawa takes Prince Miller

Non-Import Draft:
Brendon LaBatte
Chris Getzlaf
Ben Heenan
Chris Best
Ricky Foley
Craig Butler*
Corey Watman***
Keith Shologan***

Ottawa takes Dominic Picard

Non-Import Draft:
Corey Watman
Keith Shologan
Sam Hurl
Levi Steinhauer
Zach Evans
Dan Clark

Spencer Moore**
Graig Newman
**

Ottawa takes Rob Bagg

* I know those guys listed with the asterisk beside their name are free agents.

** That's if Chris Milo ends up getting picked in the second round.

*** That's if Drew Willy ends up getting picked as a QB.

I'm beginning to wonder if Ottawa will pass on one of Calgary's QBs as Calgary is one of the team's where they would be able to get a quality non-import player.

The Draft takes place on Monday Dec 16th.

Basically 3 weeks after the GC. Teams will have to decide by then who they will trade, if possible, and get rosters somewhat set. There is going to be a flurry of moves post GC.

Totally off topic as I only very loosely follow CFL, but REDBLACKS? Seriously? Thats their name? Thats not a placeholder until they find someone with two brain cells to rub together to figure out something better?

^^^^ The only animals in Ottawa are politicians and Senators is already used.
Could call them the Prime Ministers? Or better the Liberals, Conservatives or NDP!

'The Ottawa Football Team' is a better name than freaking REDBLACKS.

From the same league that brought you the "Baltimore Football Club" (aka the Baltimore CFL'ers )

You actually have a good point there. If I am Ottawa's GM, I would probably go after the young QB like Zach Collaros if Toronto does not trade him to Winnipeg or even Drew Willy from Saskatchewan.

From Calgary, I will try to go after one of the hoggies or non-import receiver that are not protected. I am sure Stamps wouldn't be able to protect one or two of Sinopli, Parker, Forzani or even Arthur.. heck a long is Armstrong. Or I will go after Punter Rob Maver and forget about Drew Tate or Kevin Glenn.
