I read the Ferland quote as though Hartley had actually referred to him by his Twitter handle. Which might signal a welcome end to the nicknames of 'Iggy' 'Cammy' 'Connie' 'Reggie' etc Because you just KNOW his nickname in the room is Ferlie.

I just heard the sound bite, he called them Booms and Ferlie, so no ferdaddy, but I do like the Booms nickname.

Looks more like an NHL roster with a few youngsters sprinkled in here and there to see how they do.
From this lineup, I'd say the forwards on the 1st line are all locks for the regular season. 2nd line, Galiardi is a lock, Monahan is extremely likely to stick past the 9-game trial & Reinhart has a very outside chance to stay for opening night. 3rd line, Backlund is a shoe-in, Knight is 50/50 I'd say & Ferland is an outside possibility. 4th line, Mcgrattan is probably a shoe-in & Horak & Bouma are outside shots.
Thinking all the Flames D-men make the opening night roster. Same for the goalies.

As good as they have been in preseason, I honestly don't see Reinhart, Ferland or Knight starting the year on the Flames. Monahan maybe, but he'll most likely only play 9 games to start the season.
