Paul Ranger's insane shootout attempt:

He actually got a really good shot off!

This is damned impressive. It always bugged me that Orr got credit for scoring a goal while flying through the air when he in fact took the shot and THEN left his feet.

Radulov is in mid air when he shoots this.

What?! He was gold baby, GOLD!

I liked him...he got excited but didn't totally lose his #### and sound like pre-pubescent boy on Christmas morning a la Kerr sometimes.

Except he made it sound like Lucic dominated, when it was a very even fight.

In fact, the general population at hockeyfights.com voted it a very slight win in Rechlicz's favour:

^^^I thought Lucic came out on top as he seemed to land the better punches but ya, he didn't dominate. Also, I don't mind a bit of homerism in fight calls on a local broadcast. I'm sure some won't like it, but I thought it was a fun fight call.

And now it's 43.4 to 43.2 in favor of Lucic.

Except he said that when Lucic was being totally raped. I don't think I've seen a bigger homer call than that.

Don't know what to make of the Nichushkin highlights. Kind of looks like Rene Bourque: head down, plowing through.

I've seen Nichushkin make that same move many, many times on his highlight reels. The speed is there, but once NHL defenders figure out that's his go-to move he's going to get destroyed against the boards a couple times. NHL rinks are smaller and he doesn't have the same room to get by like that and go to the net.

That's because he made a nice move.

That's pretty much it.

No question he has great speed. But he relies on that move a lot. It won't be long before it simply isn't available to him.

Talent was never the question though. We'll see if he is ever a consistent NHLer.
