At least he's putting a positive spin on it by selling these shirts, with a portion going to charity.

Guy may come off as a dummy, but he seems to have pretty good business instincts, or at least has people around him that do.

I was actually at this game, and they never showed a replay in-arena. Looking at the video, it was much cleaner than it seemed at the rink, but I'm not sure I agree that Nolan didn't launch into the hit. Looks like he was in the process of leaving his feet when contact was made. A technical pass on that rule at best.
Klesla looked like he was out cold before he even hit the ice, but he did manage a thumbs up to the crowd when he was wheeled off. Hard as it is to do with a Kozari-officiated game, but I have to give the refs some credit for how they handled it afterward. Nolan got a minor in the scrum that followed the hit, and when he stepped out of the box, the Coyotes went right after him, including Bissonnette off the bench. Biz got a game and several misconducts were called - including to Nolan - to allow the game to get out of the first period without further trouble. By the second period, it was back to hockey as usual. Save for the "crowd" booing Nolan every time he touched the puck.

I hate everything about the retaliation fight for a clean hit. If you get caught with your head down, and someone makes you pay for it with a clean body check, that's your own fault. If Nolan targeted the head, or made any other dirty play, fine, go get him. No player should have to fight for making a clean hockey play. It would be as ridiculous as Nolan scoring a goal, and Bissonnette leaving the bench to fight him.
You're proud of a guy for leaving the bench, getting suspended for 10 games and fighting a guy who did nothing wrong? Great attitude.

A guy standing in front of your goalie does nothing wrong. Shouldn't they have to earn that spot so they don't go in their so easy?
Sorry, but clean hit or not, the opponent should pay for hurting your teammate

In their what so easy?
Are you fighting a guy for standing in front of your goalie? That's absurd. If he bumps, hits, snows, etc. your goalie, yes, I encourage you to drop the mitts.
Suppose the guy knocks down your teammate cleanly and then has to fight over it. If he wins that fight and punches him out like TKo on Bieksa, does he have to fight another guy because he hurt that teammate? Hockey's a contact sport, and people are going to get hurt. Fighting is a nice part of the game, but you shouldn't have to fight if you hit someone cleanly. When Sarich smashed Marleau, the Sharks had no reason to go after him. Everything he did was legal. When Rome targeted Horton in the playoffs, it definitely warranted a fight, as it targeted the head and was dirty.
A clean check is a clean check, no matter if the person gets injured or not. It's not the hitter's responsibility to ensure the other guy isn't made of glass.

That hit was pretty damn borderline. Do you expect players on the bench to ask for the stills from the video so thy can determine if it was clean or not? I don't like guys getting jumped for making a clean hit, but that's not at all what happened here.

He gets suspended 10 games for standing up for a teammate, but Nolan get zero punishment for a dirty hit. Torres made the same hit on Stoll in last years playoffs. He was suspended for the remainder of the series. The NHL has no consistency. I guarantee you that if someone with more of a suspension history than Nolan would of been suspended for that same hit. Please fire Shanahan.

Bissonnete is a shameless self promoter alright. I think its funny that he gives a "portion" to charity. If they don't say how much, its probably 3%.
Awesome hit by the way!

Does this make Clarkson's non-appeal of the 10 game suspension seem even dumber?

not that I've seen the incident, but from what I heard from reporters comparing the two is that bisonnette's could of been closer to a line change (whistle then go on), while clarkson (I did see clarkson's incident) joined in well after the whistle and was clearly coming off the bench to fight and was definitely not going on the ice for a line change.

No, not at all. Totally different circumstances. One game had basically zero to very minimum video evidence and the other game happened in Toronto with clear cut video evidence that Clarkson left the bench without anyone even attempting to come off.
