I'll view this the same way as Thomas going to Florida. Anything that helps improve these teams helps us in the draft....

In Jersey's case it benefits us hugely if they tank. If they win the lottery that pick is forefitted and the best player in the draft falls to "2nd overall". (Most likely the Flames)
Basically gives us two shots at 1st overall if they suck.
