Care to elaborate??

Are you implying that Kobasew was the reason we lost the cup in 2004?

Pretty much. He supercedes the missed goal and the corrupt Kerry Fraser missed call in Overtime in Game 6.

Wide open in front of the Tampa net with Khabbybulin out of of position and he fans on it! around 10 minutes to go in the 3rd period.

One missed shot and he costs us the entire playoffs?
Girl please!
At least when people talk about the "goal" they talk about it because it was clearly in and we were robbed.
But you're talking about a missed shot. I don't know if you remember Khabby in his prime, but like Kipper, being "out of position" was not a sign that you were likely to score.
That's about as silly as saying "well that shot in the third that Iginla didn't put high enough which Khabby then saved cost us the cup."

Seems silly, no? In this sense every save Khabby made cost us the cup, every shot missed cost us the cup. So... I guess you're right... technically.... but it's no where close to the goal that was actually in.

Side note: I can't wait until we stop talking about all the things that cost us the cup a decade ago. I'm still going to do it, but I look forward to not having the urge.

I thought it was Leopold's fault for not shooting it high enough to tie it up with seconds left? Maybe we should blame Kipper for coming up with one or two less miraculous saves.

Dude, it is 2013. Live in the now!

that was game 7. It would have not gotten to it, if Kobasuck couldn't hit a wide open net. Every single CPer would have scored on that chance. Even flamesgimp. hehe

You really deserve to go back to Kobatuzzied.

No. Aebischer should be given the nod for NHL's worst all time goalie to get up a hattrick to Kobasued.

Right. Because it clearly isn't the fault of the other 17 skaters who didn't score, it's entirely the fault of the one who came close.

Besides, if you got rid of every player who ever missed an open net, your team obviously would win the Stanley Cup every year.

Rabble rabble!

Irving
Hale
Pardy
Bork

Hey, he was in the right place at the right time and had the puck with him. That puts him ahead of every other player on the team in that situation.

So again, why do you blame him and not any of the others?

Hell of a contract for Pitts. This could be a late round steal in a hockey pool. Kobesew can put the puck in the net. Low risk, high reward signing.

At least once in his career he lead his team in goals in a season.

Yeah I see the top two lines as:
Dupuis-Crosby-Kunitz
Bennett-Malkin-Neal

Unless Bennett fails miserably Kobasew will be on the wing with Sutter or the 4th line.

If you are going for a late round steal take Bennett not Kobasew.

In the NHL? Which team/year was that? Unless you're talking a different league, I don't recall him ever doing that.
