Sharks are 0-2. 5 GF, 8 GA. 3 players have combined for all of their GF.
lol at the Oilers...

4 GF and 12 GA

Sure, the first overall picks are with the big club, but forchristsake, they have been picking high for years - where are the 2nd and 3rd rounders?

Nice rebuild, guys!

Blasphemy!

Also hoping Brossoit stands tall and shuts out the Sharks. Would be nice to have a problem of having too many good goaltenders knocking at the door for a change.

Very interested to watch Roy play with Wotherspoon, Sieloff with Ramage as well. I really like those pairings.

Monahan and Poirier again - I'll be watching them closely. Guess they saw enough of Reinhart and want to give Jooris another look. New linemates again for Baertschi - would have loved to see him with Monahan.

This might be the strongest lineup so far.

Elson-Knight-Hanowski is pure grit. I like it.

Sorry, the word we were looking for is "greasy". "What is greasy?"

I'd like to have seen Ortio again to see if he can keep up this level of play.
Also as mentioned before I'd like to see if Baertschi can pull more out of the bag than he has thus far.
I'm glad to see they're keeping Monahan and Poirier together but wouldn't be disappointed if they tried Monahan with Baertschi.

I would like to see Sven with Granlund. They had some chemistry in camp.

The team the Oilers had in Penticton was just garbage. Yeah Nurse may end up being good, but he was a top ten pick. If they can't manage to develop players out of the top ten (Eberle is the only exception) they will never turn things around.

No Culkin? Thought he was one of the better d-men in both games.

They must have their mind made up on him already. Seems like a good sign that he may get signed and assigned to Abby instead of going back to the QMJHL.

Is Culkin eligible for the AHL? I thought he was only 19 and had only three years of junior play?

1993 birth... he's eligible.

I think the rules are silly.

Agreed. It;s not an excuse for his lackluster play so far, but he hasn't been given much for line mates in the first 2 games.

He turns 20 before the end of the year and thus is eligible for the AHL. If he went back to junior it'd be his overage year.

Intrigued by the "Special K" D pairing - the immense size & potential & rawness of Kanzig with the smart & smooth Kulak.
