Believe it or not, Craft has one of the best breakfasts/brunches I've ever gone too.

Blue Star Diner in Bridgleland is pretty awesome, but you usually have to wait unless you go early :<

You don't get out much then, I'd imagine?

Holy Grill does breakfast now

I don't think there's a better Sunday morning brunch-time meal than going to Chinatown for dim sum. I like Regency Palace, but lots of good places in Calgary.

I can't stand OEB or Diner Deluxe. I'd head to Bridgeland and go to Blue Star or deVille

The Ranch in Fishcreek is expensive but good. Great location for sitting on a patio, having coffee and some steak and eggs.

The breakfast poutine at Diner Deluxe is to die for, but I don't care for the vibe of the place. The tables are crammed in far too tight and far too many hipsters dine there. Plus the prices are too high for breakfast items.

Galaxie Diner
Blue Star Diner
Pfan...(dunno how to spell it, by Marda Loop)
Belmont Diner
Dairy Lane

A lot of the above are owned by the same people, and they know how it's done.

I just wish some of those places would expand a tiny bit beyond their 8 table dining capacity and no-reservations.

Agreed.

Watching that horrible sentient troll doll Guy Fieri on that show where he harasses hardworking cooks, they go to all these gigantic American diners that (apparently) have amazing food, and I just can't help but wonder why Calgary doesn't have a single Breakfast/Lunch diner that isn't gross and holds more than 30 people at one time.

I live in Bridgeland, so fairly familiar with Diner Deluxe, OEB, Blue Star Diner, etc. My favourite in the city is actually Main Dish. Little bit pricy, but no line, and food was excellent.

Not disagreeing with any one of you.

I'm not sure if they feel as if they're profiting more from the allure/name and quality they run and still being capable of bringing in patrons willing to wait hours?

I feel as if they expanded they could make even more money, even with a larger location to maintain/pay for.

Maybe with larger locations, the overheard becomes too much for a brunch place. I mean those places are only super busy two days a week for a couple hours?

I take it back. Went to Main Dish this weekend and was really disappointed. My wife didn't finish her meal, either. I'll go back to OEB being my favourite place, despite the lines.
