Billins is extremely small for an NHL defenseman. I'm not saying he can't make it work, but it is MUCH harder in the NHL physically than any other league in the world.

Voted for Harrison this round.
Me too!

Yeah, I went with Billins. I think he's being a little underrated at this point by Flames fans, but that's understandable considering he's new.

I agree, if he was an AHL all-star last year for the Heat he would have been selected by now. Saying that I still voted for Roy.

Man, the complete lack of respect for Billins around here is crazy.

It's not a lack of respect, it's a lack of knowledge. Billins isn't a blue chip prosect, and I believe we just acquired him a month or 2 ago? Nobody knows a thing about the guy.

Yeah, poor choice of words by me as I was boarding a flight, sorry. You're right, it's a lack of knowledge, but if you do a little research online, you'd see he's worth a vote or two at this stage of the voting.

Definitely lack of knowledge for me. Saw Harrison play a bit online and liked what he brought to the table, haven't seen Billins at all.

Saying that, I'll probably still vote for him ahead of Howse or Nemisz.

For me it's lack of respect. At 5'10" and 175lbs. He could surprise but I don't see a bright future for him with the Flames.

He is an undrafted 24 year old that has shown little to nothing to indicate he has the overall game for the NHL and was just let go by the best or at least top 5 organization in the NHL.

Not really sure how much respect he really deserves in a prospect thread/poll.

When you are at prospect 27 just playing 1 NHL game is a longshot. So I picked Nemisz. He has NHL experience already and has a slim shot of making the Flames this year.

Not let go by the Wings.... He was a UFA, only an AHL contract... Flames gave him a bigger signing bonus than he made all last year.

My guess is that he picked the Flames as they had nobody in their system that was NHL ready and had Smith --- a journeyman AHLer on their NHL roster.

Billins has made the most of the opportunity the Wings gave him.... I am sure he exceeded expectations for basically an undrafted walk-on in his first pro season.
