Default Summer Prospect Ranking Poll Round 23

He also has some offensive ability, but not a ton, more or less equivalent to Reinhart in that regard.

The combination of the fact that Harrison is 6-3, very fast, extremely physical and a hard hitter, and smart in terms of positioning means that he'll likely become a good 4th liner, and has the personality to be a fan favourite. He's never going to be confused for a top line guy, but will be an important depth guy.

Teams that have been successful over the past half decade have had players that were physically imposing and hit everything. That's basically Harrison's playbook.
I can understand what you're saying, but keep in mind that this kid hasn't even played a college game yet. Stating that he will be a guaranteed NHLer based off of one development camp is a littler premature. He has the potential and I like how he plays a lot, but he has a long ways to go before he's suiting up for the Flames.

That would be the definition of "flying under the radar", wouldn't it? Harrison certainly wouldn't be the first guy to go by unnoticed as a teenager and then start surprising everyone as he hits his late teens - early twenties.

Heck, at least Harrison was drafted. Giordano went undrafted and has managed to impress a number of people. So I would guess that the Flames scouts had an idea of what Harrison is capable of, otherwise they would have skipped drafting him.

He might not be a guaranteed NHLer but it does sound like he is a prototype 4th liner that has the ability to find his way on the third or fourth line if he can combine his physical game with a nose for the net.

I really like the idea of developing a Clutterbuck-type player. He has been the kind of player you dread seeing in the other team's lineup because you know one way or the other he will do everything in can to try to change the tempo of the game to his favour.

Even more to that theory is the back story where it was ONE Flames scout that had the kid high on his list. One.

So the Flames as a group didn't have him listed, but one guy wanted a late round pick to go and take a chance on a guy that perhaps he happen to live near and scouted when the rest of the hockey world just wasn't paying attention.

it does happen, less and less these days, but it does happen.

It's one thing to come out with "see! We knew he was good" articles after the development camp, but the one scout taking a flier on the unranked kid came out draft weekend.
