Right on, thanks everybody! There are some excellent bands involved in the contest so it should be really interesting to see who wins. Really appreciate your support!

I knew I recognized that song. For the first little bit of the song I thought it was the latest Jack White song, and I'm not even joking. I didn't hear them announce it and the dudes voice was so similar, and the music was good enough that I actually thought "Oh sweet, new Jack White", and turned it up. Great song!

Also, it's pretty great what X929 has done for local punk rock/alternative bands. The dudes were pretty popular around Calgary for awhile, but I don't think it's any coincidence that they became a household name after X929 started playing them regularly, and giving them a wide-ranging home for each new single they release.

Another band I loved that they played was the local band "The Evidence". Great band with a radio worthy sound. If anyone from X929 sees this thread, why the hell don't you guys play this song any more? It's ****ing awesome, always turned it up when it came on.

Dam, I really like that Birds and the Birds track, that is a catchy tune.

Voted, good luck man!

I love these guys. I'd catch them all time time when they played local shows. Casey the drummer is one of the most talented guys I know. Have you listened to The Failure? It was his band before The Evidence.

Never heard of them, anything online? Always love to hear good music from the local scene.

All I remember thinking was that "Dam that River" was really catchy, then as a drummer I saw the music video and was blown away to see the lead singer was the drummer. Just friggin awesome!

Awesome, I've totally been digging your song on X. Going to vote, just grabbed the EP on iTunes too. Definitely a more mature sound than your previous album... Good luck!
