Went with Ramage, but could have easily gone with Breen or Arnold. I'm very impressed with the massive turn around in a little under a year of our prospect depth. I love that there are four guys on this list who haven't been picked at the 16th spot and have already played a few NHL games. That's a pretty strong indication of where our prospect pool is heading.

With all that said I still think Broissiot has as good of a chance as any goaltender in the system (not including someone like Ramo who has NHL experience) to make the show.
I said this in the last thread too, but look at how he handled himself after getting cut from the world junior team. He lit it up and was one of the best goalies in the chl. Similar to what Gaudreau did the year before. I believe that shows potential in a strong mental game which is key for goalies in the NHL today. He definitely has starter upside in my opinion.

Breen again.

After Breen's off the board, I have to give love to Arnold. Kid has a lot of tools to be a solid checking centre.

Maybe it is because people do not consider him a prospect BUT Bouma is likely to play a lot of games with the Flames this year.

He only has 43 NHL career games so far and he is only 23.

No one would be shocked (well I wouldn't) if he ends up playing over 40 games with the Flames.

The next guy that I find fascinating as a surprise prospect is Chad Billins.

Last year he was his first year out of college on an AHL contract with the Grand Rapids Griffins (affiliate Detroit), he was their best offensive D-man and was in the AHL all-star game.

They won the Calder Cup and Billins played all 24 playoff games and put up 14 pts.

He is small but will likely be in the top 4-5 scorers for the Heat this year and be the first call up if Wideman or Brodie miss some time.

To have such a great 1st pro season without an affiliation with an NHL club is quite an accomplishment.

If Wothersppon, Sieloff, Ramage have as good a first year as Billins just finished the Flames will be looking good on Defense for the next while.

PS. It seems that the Flames are gathering more of their players from successful teams and programs rather than the Toronto-Florida best player on a bad team theory that they were using.

Arnold.

3rd time in a row. He's better than people are giving him credit for.

Ramage is also 22 already. So he's 2 years older than Wotherspoon and 3 years older than Sieloff. He should have looked considerably more polished.

He's a decent prospect but I don't see top 4 upside in him. I think Kulak and Culkin might have greater potential than Ramage and perhaps Kanzig as well. Who knows maybe Ramage will surprise. I did really like the highlights of a few of his goals last year.

Not sure if he is still a prospect but went with Bouma.

He may not score 100 points over his whole career but he should play a lot of games for the Flames and not just be aide they are awful and trying to force feed prospects games who don't deserve it like a lot of guys will get over the next 3 years.

I do not really consider Bouma a prospect. Kinda like Ramo, he has seen the NHL before and I consider him a roster player this year. Granted, he'll be a 4th liner but that is still on the roster.

To me I guess that means he has graduated from Prospect to Rookie (or something like that).

Arnold again. I do not believe the Brossoit will amount to anything in the NHL. I think he's going to be another Matt Keetly.

There is something about him when the pressure is on.. I just think he'll wilt.

That's a good point, and should be mentioned.

Especially after I wood-sheded Berra for the same thing!

I don't think its a case of anyone not getting "love". There are just too many guys now that are close in terms of value. The next 5-10 winners could easily be shuffled around in order, and it wouldn't be too out of whack.

Someone better tell Corban Knight to just pack it in then, if he hasn't made it now, he won't ever make it.

Went with Kanzig again.

The winner of the round will almost certainly have the lowest overall percentage of the vote so far, suggesting less overall consensus. That it took 16 rounds to get to this point is an encouraging sign for the depth of the prospect pool (I think).

Still like a handful of guys at this stage, including several that seem to be garnering the majority of the votes, but of those that remain, I still think Kanzig could be the sleeper pick of the bunch.

or CP suffers from sheep herd group think. Easily influenced by a few comments and the latest news.

I like the depth of the prospects but Ramage has done what Sieloff is doing:

Sieloff comes off a good WJC tryout camp and might be captain of team USA.... Ramage was captain and performed well at the tournaments he was in..

If Sieloff is the 7th best prospect compared to Ramage at 16th+ are we expecting him to be an All-Star - best D-man in the WJC???

My thinking is that the Flames are in a great position in that 1 or 2 of Wotherspoon/Sieloff/Ramage will be a solid NHL calibre d-man in 2-3 years.

I wouldn't be shocked if any one of them turns out to be the best and one of them turns out to be a bust.

Yeah, the main problem with Calgarypuck is we all tend to agree with each other.
