He scored a nice powerplay goal and got two points in his first game with the Flames which got fans overly excited and maybe overrated. Otherwise he's an extremely undersized, undrafted defenseman and is widely viewed as too small to be a full time NHL player although he plays bigger than his size would indicate. I expect he will be one of those guys that gets called up here but show me a 5'9" defenseman in this day and age that's ever held a full time NHL spot and long career.
I don't consider him a top prospect but I consider him a good AHL player for the team that can come in and play in the NHL when injuries dictate the need for call-ups.

Have contended that Ramage deserves to be top fifteen for a long time now so my vote went to Ramage.

I wouldn't say he's a lock but I could see him in and out of the lineup this season. His upside is pretty limited.

His upside is very limited, I agree.....but all of the remaining players are players who will probably be on the bottom half of the roster, if they ever get to the bigs, which most of them wont....but Bouma is already close to the point of making it....people love Cundari based on like 2 games....though they never heard of him before the trade and he is likely a career AHLer....

Flames definitely lacking quality D prospects only 2 in our top 15

Don't consider Ramo a prospect so I'm going with Berra from here onwards until he is picked. I liked what I saw from him at the dev camp. Unknown quantity to be sure but one with a pretty high ceiling.
Others on my radar now are Arnold, Hanowski, Brossoit and Ramage. Cundari also came to mind.
Gets real tough here on

Agreed but a factor in this type of process is that Dmen aren't sexy. Fans will naturally gravitate more to forwards.
The Flames have a lot of guys that I think could be NHL dmen but they certainly lack a guy or two at the top end.

Picking the 15th best prospect and the following guys still not picked have a better than 50% chance of playing an NHL game this year:
Bouma, Breen, Cundari, Hanowski, Ramage, Billins and Ramo.
Freaking amazing!!
For some perspective in the 2010 draft there are 9 guys pick in the 1st round that have not played 1 NHL game and another 3 that have played less than 10. Only 3 picks in the 2010 2nd round have played more than 10 NHL games and only 9 that have played more than 1 NHL game.
This list of 7 secondary prospects or near prospects (already proven pros) likely won't embarrass the organization playing at the NHL level.
In past years there was only 2-3 call ups in the Flames organization that were in that category and some/most (kolanos, Byron, Pikula, Jaffray, Lundmark, Carson) were established AHL pros rather than prospects.
Nemisz was on the call-up hot list a couple of years ago and now will have to be dominating.... or at least playing at a higher level than he has to date to be considered for a call-up.
Last year Alui would have been in the Flames top 10 prospects for sure , if not top 5.
How much better will Byron and Street have to be than Granlund, Rienhart, Hanowski for them to get a call up?
Afterthought: Of the first 14 top prospect of the Flames only 7-8 will play a NHL game this year.

Cundari again.
I don't think Ramo will do well and it's hard to consider him a prospect so I won't vote for him.
I'm not high on Brossiot partially because of the Irving factor. I have doubts about goalies on good teams. Plus him not making the World Juniors hurt his value for me.
I believe Ramage's upside is bottom pairing NHLer and I think Cundari can make to the 2nd pairing.

Ramage, but it is close with Brossoit and Arnold in the mix.

I'm going to pull Ramo next round
Berra concern for me is his age in a camp where he had 8 years on the average guy. To me that says he should have been a brick wall.

I went Kanzig. Size and showed better then I thought he would at camp. I also liked his work ethic.

I don't think brossoit not making the world junior team should hinder his rating as a prospect. Look how well he played after getting cut. He was probably the best goalie in the chl for quite some time there. That would seem like he has a strong mental game, which by all accounts is the toughest thing for young goalies to develop. Toss in the fact he was in the best shape of all out prospects at development camp and I think there's a ton of potential there.
