Mark Masters ‏@markhmasters 14s Monahan the only goal in the first 30-minute period of Canada's development camp scrimmage; Lazar stopped by Fucale on a penalty shot

Thank you for that article link!

I have to say it feels good to read 'confirming' articles on how good Sean Monahan is turning out to be, but it feels even nicer to read it on Emile Poirier since he was the more scrutinized/criticized pick.

Such a confidence booster!

I like how TSN "forgets" to mention that Porier is a Flame draft pick - just cause they didnt like the pick?

Probably because it's irrelevant to most people who read the article. Jesus people

Not really, the title of the article is "FLAMES' PICK MONAHAN SCORES TWICE AT CANADIAN JUNIOR CAMP", so it would seem relevant when speaking about Poirier to maybe just add "also a first round pick of the Flames". I'm not saying TSN did it out of malice or anything, but I don't think it's irrelevant.

But you know what, this is not the place for this discussion, sorry to keep it going. I'm glad that our prospects are looking good at these games, hopefully Janko is surprising some people too.

Man I hate to be delusional like the oilers fans but to me things are looking really good 2-3 years down the road.

I never realized Malcom Subban is a week too old for this team. Our goalies Fucale, Paterson or Comrie better play above average.

i guess it depends on your definition of impact.

Dustin Boyd played an important role but certainly wasn't a top guy on the team.

Iginla obviously wasn't a Flame when he played so my guess would be Marty Murray in 1995.

Iginla had just been traded to the Flames prior to the 96 WJC in Boston. I recall that there was a lot of discussion about how Dallas probably wouldn't have traded him if they had waited until after the WJ's and his performance there.

Iginla had just become a Flame. The Nieuwendyk trade happened on December 19, 1995, and the WJHC started on December 26.
