If a prospect is still eligible for the Calder, I consider him a prospect.

Went with Sven, but I have a feeling that the next couple of rounds are going to be interesting between Gadureau, Jankowski and Knight.

I picked Johnny Hockey. Probably will go Gaudreau, Baertschi, Gillies for me.

I'm pretty surprised that Baertschi didn't take #1 in a landslide.
He definitely has to be #2 here.

This one pretty easy and I suspect the next one will also be a land slide for Johnny Hockey. Round 4 should get a little more interesting.

Baertschi because we've seen what he can do at the NHL level already and the fact he wouldn't change his number cause people already bought #47. Good kid who likes it here.

Why is he #1?
Monahan was drafted much higher in a deeper draft. Plus he plays a more critical position. Monahan may end up as the first true #1 centre we'll have had in 2 decades.
Sven is more NHL proven than Monahan but that's the only reason people could have him over Sean IMO.
If I had to draft one of our prospects to start building a team around it would be Monahan.

He was somewhat disappointing last year. I picked Gaudreau because I think he'll be the better player in the long run.

Quick off topic question: Is Berra eligible for the Calder?

Bartschi coming off a disappointing year and Gaudreau dominating every where he played, means its Gaudreau.

No, he's 26.
For me, I would include all players who are still on their ELC (or as yet unsigned), so Berra would be included, but not Ramo. Even if you exclude his time in the KHL, Ramo has about the same level of NHL experience as TJ Brodie.

I just checked the rules regarding who qualifies for the Calder and apparently Berra would be eligible.
The rules from this link say the player must be 26 years old or younger on September 15. Berra will be 26 on that date since his birthday is January 3.
Something to look forward to I guess.

The same link also says this, though: "Beginning in 1990-91, to be eligible for this award a player must not have attained his twenty-sixth birthday by September 15th of the season in which he is eligible." That would indicate he isn't eligible.
There's also this: "To be eligible for the award, a player cannot have played more than 25 games in any single preceding season nor in six or more games in each of any two preceding seasons in any major professional league."
I don't know if the Swiss League is considered a "major professional league" or not.

Not that it matters. With McKinnon, Drouin, Jones etc all likely to play this year, Berra would have to be some kinda special to even make a dent.
Here's hoping I guess. Or not. I'm personally hoping for the franchise's first ever top 3 pick next year.
