Have to go with Monahan. Big, strong, skilled centreman. He's the guy you build this team around.

I know I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment, but I'm ridiculously excited about Johnny Hockey. The guy has some insane moves. I really hope he bulks up properly and makes a huge splash in the NHL. I must say, following the guy the past couple years as been one of the few bright spots to an otherwise dismal 4 years.

Ended up picking Monahan. Wasn't an easy choice by any means. I think Baertchi, Gaudreau, and Gilles are all right close to each other. I don't know what it is but I think Monahan is going to be something special and if he had an average team surrounding him in his draft year he would have been more highly touted.

I think at times Sven will appear to be our top prospect but when it comes down to winning the big games in the playoffs I have a feeling that Monahan will be our man

This is the way I look at it. We have 3 AAA forward prospects right now in Sven, Gaudreau, and Monahan and in my opinion they are all pretty equal:
Sven: Very Talented, Average Two-Way Play, Injury Concerns, Most Proven. Has that edge.
Monahan: Least natural talent of the 3, Best 2-Way Game, Most Important Position
Gaudreau: Most talented, most explosive, Size is a concern and big risk.
1a) Sven Baertschi: takes the first spot because he is the most proven.
1b) Sean Monahan: Best two way play, importance of position, less risky than Gaudreau
1c) Johnny Hockey: The X-Factor- the potential to be the best but size poses the biggest risk.

i picked baertchi.
Rationale was he is still the pick that i feel has a shot to be a game breaker.
Gaudreau also has the game breaker element to him, but must overcome size concerns to get there.
to me, Monahan, seems like he may be a player that is destined to be a top6 dependable center (ie. a langkow/conroy type player), not necessary the guy that is a point machine.

The forgotten prospects with some real potential who are somewhat overshadowed by the studs, get me excited. Ferland, Klimchuk, Reinhart, Sieloff, Kanzig, Hanowski, Janko, Agostino, yada yada... Our depth is impressive suddenly. Maybe among the top 5 in the league.

I think Baertschi should be at the front of the pipeline for being the best prospect right now. He is ripe to be a Calder candidate this year.
Monahan is a huge piece going forward, but I think he will likely go back to junior after 9 games. I would love to see him prove that he absolutely deserves to stay with the big club this year.

I'm a huge fan of Sven but I picked Monahan due to the fact he's a centre.

I suggest excluding Monahan (my vote) and Baertschi, as the majority will vote for them as more obvious prospects making the rest of the chart less meaningful.

Why? The chart is to show the rankings from 1-whatever. For me it gets interesting to see what posters think from round 4 and onwards. I pretty much know what the top 3 will be.

I think Bingo plans on having more polls with the previous winners getting removed.

Have to see what Monahan does after being drafted before I anoint him as the best prospect we have. The pressure of expectations do a lot to players and Monahan has to show he can live up to the expectations. I'm ecstatic that we have five guys that could possibly be considered our best prospect. Exciting time to be a Flames fan for a change.

Exactly. Why bother with the first three then? It's practically a consensus.

To see the order which CP puts its importance to. Even though i voted for Monahan, i am quite surprised he is in the lead.

That's funny. I voted Baertschi, but I thought Monahan would win by a landslide.

Picked Gaudreau, I feel he has the highest ceiling of the 3. He could be a real gamebreaker.
