That's pretty exciting! Just last night I was walking with my wife and gave her a piggy back while trying to run. HOLY CRAP that was tough... Our combined weight was about 320 lbs and I almost died after about 100 yards. I can't imagine carrying that kind of weight around every day. Gave me a new appreciation for the challenges you are about to face.

Good luck!

Good luck man. I know it can be hard but it is worth it. I have been trying since the beginning of the year and so far I am down 50 pounds.

Congrats and good luck man! I don't know why, but I always kind of pictured you as thin. Not that I am picturing you a lot or anything...

Kind of crazy that 4% of the population applied to be on the show. That would be like 1.4 million people in Canada applying or about 12.5 million Americans applying on their version.

Is Iceland a "fat" country?

Best of luck to you, don't know anything about the program, do your research prior, and all that stuff.

The picture you posted in the thread won't load for me, but in Iceland, someone who is over 6'4" and weighs " well over 140 pounds" is considered overwieght?

I am so fat by your standards.

Well Iceland just was called the fattest country in Europe, which I doubt to be quite honest.

http://www.grapevine.is/News/ReadArt...test-In-Europe

There is however a big change since the last time I lived here in 2000, and there is a definite change in how Icelanders look, way more obese young people than ever before and there is a lot of alarm bells being sounded.

I totally do not see the morbidly obese as much in Iceland as I did in Canada and especially the US, so I do think Icelanders have gotten chubby, but no way are most of these people in nearly as bad of a situation as other people in North America considered obese.

I find the people of Iceland to be way more interested in health and fitness, all companies here really push their employees to eat better, workout, and all the unions offer big discounts and even money towards buying bikes, gym memberships, etc..

I must be missing something.

You are 6'4" and 140 lbs? I assume its kilos instead of lbs.

Anyhow congrats and hope you first succeed in your goal and second of course win.

If it is lbs then wow you are one fat mofo :no

I will use this 10 weeks as a way to go crazy, drop lots of weight and after this is all said and done take on the challenge of regular exercise, sensible eating and changing my bad habbits.
Good luck.

It'd be interesting to hear from you on what things are really like "off-camera".

Hopefully there is support network from the show after the fact, else there's always CP

Good luck, Thor.

Don't let any minor set backs deter you from your goal. I know you can do this!

Awesome!!! I used to watch that show all the time (American version I guess). The workouts get pretty intense by the final few weeks.

Good luck!!

Congrats!
I would watch a bit of Biggest Loser Sweden when I lived there, but most of the contestants 'before' condition was what the Americans 'after' would look like! Most Europeans, aren't as big as North Americans, but I did notice that the younger generation was getting larger - I'd assume due to an increase in processed junk, tv/internet/sedentary lifestyle and more fast food options.
