Wait, so if I crash into people in my group I won't get in trouble? What if I start throwing banana peels?

This has to potential to be hilariously dangerous. My brother is debating to take the drive down this weekend with his wife and two kids, I'll send him this video and a challenge and he'll be counting down the days instead.

We're looking for something to do this weekend - will have to show this to the husband and the kid and see if they'd be up for it. Looks like fun.

Seriously.

How strict are they about short cuts and such?

You cannot take short cuts, there is a curb in place that does not allow it. In regards to bumping during your race... Well rubbins racing...

I showed the video to a few of my buddies and a few co-workers and looks like we'll be planning some time out to do this.

I think it's a little too expensive for what you get, but it is fun.

Not my video... But the speed doesn't translate well on video. When you are riding them it feels fast enough. Maybe 35kph?? A couple of turns I was up on two wheels.

I disagree with the question of value. It is well worth it IMO. That said you can do 1 or 3 descents if you choose.

Ahhh I thought it was, no wonder why the music selection didn't add up.

I wonder if you'd get in trouble if a bunch of people went, and right after getting out of the starting gate you stopped and waited for everyone else so you could start 3-wide.

Kind of like when you try to stop in a waterslide to wait for your buddies. When 5-6 guys pile out within seconds of each other at the bottom, you pretty much immediately get kicked out by the lifeguards.

they usually only let 4 go at a time, and they will yell at you if you wait around the first corner. Go to the second corner, let your buddies catch up and then let the carnage unfold

Makes sense to go down a bit first then get your buddies to line up NASCAR grid style. Would be sweet!!

Thanks for the heads up on this. Took my nephews last week and had a blast. I thought being way heavier than them would give me an advantage but I found it really hard to catch them. Felt really safe no matter what speed I went. I could see it being really annoying if it was busy...we were pretty much the only people there. Highly recommend it.

So is this thing permanent or just temporary? Looking at the map, it looks like it's built on the ski hill portion of COP. It seems like a lot of work to create a track like that only to have to tear it down in a few months.

Looks like a lot of fun, although perhaps a bit slow on the the video. Would be fun to take a regular go-kart down this.

I would imagine they could just fill the track in with dirt and then once it snows you're good to go.

My son did this as part of his Winsport summer camp and had an absolute blast. I think they are including it in all of their summer camps this year.
