I couldn't even watch after the 6th inning.
I think only about 3 or 4 guys actually care anymore.
J.P. might be the worst defensive catcher in the league.
5 errors in the game...are they even trying anymore?
5 runs on 13 hits. Just terrible offensive execution compared to L.A. who had 14 runs on 16 hits (5 errors help too).
Gibbons' post game was full of excuses and no passion whatsoever. He isn't necessarily the problem, but he sure ain't helping.
If I'm AA I make a significant move soon. This team is going down quickly as they are.

I'm tired of watching J.P. swing at breaking stuff in the dirt. Especially yesterday against a left-handed pitcher. A right-handed bat like him should be feasting on LH pitching, not being THAT fooled.

I just can't see AA selling low with Josh Johnson. Maybe he needs to hit the weighted ball program like Delabar and Cecil. Not sure, but this nibbling he is doing has got to stop. He can still throw 95 MPH, yet he stays away from his fastball more and more. His confidence is totally shot.
Moving Brett to 2B right now is completely ridiculous as well. Why now? He was doing a great job defensively at 3B and now he has to learn a completely new position in the middle of the season? Just seems so asinine and makes it more apparent that there really doesn't seem to be a plan on the horizon for what was our glaring lack of a true 2B to now what is our glaring lack of a true 3B.
So all AA needs to address is :
-Starting pitching
-2B/3B
-Catcher
Lots of work to do.

True, challenge for AA is Josh Johnson may have no desire to resign with the Jays.
As for needs,
Priority 1, Main area that needs attention is the Starting Rotation.
Next Priority, is to decide if Lawrie is the 2nd or 3rd Baseman. Then upgrade the position he is not.
As for Catching the Jays are fine. I doubt they would be able to obtain a better Catcher.

What has happened to Cecil and Delabar? They were shutdown before the all-star break but now they are pitching horribly...

I think they can certainly find a better fit at catcher than JPA.
With Bautista, Edwin, Lawrie and Rasmus they have plenty of power SO's. Throw in whoever they play at 2B/3B (Maicer/Bonafacio) and that is a whole lot of swinging and missing and zero situational/smarter batters.
Throw in the poor defense and seemingly not much of a clue at how to call a game and the Jays may very well be better off with a plus defender who can move a runner along than the 30 HR's/200+ K liability behind home plate.

Its what you get from most mediocre middle relievers. They can go for stretches where they are very good but for the most part they are middle relievers (both of which almost out of majors altogether) for a reason.

I think it is more of a byproduct from their relievers logging so many innings after their starters have been pulled before 6 innings all season long. You go to the well too much and they get burned.

Yep totally agree, if any thing the Jays Relief Pitchers have been really...really good so far.
They have logged a high amount of innings and have kept the Jays in the games.

What a baby. I don't even know what AA needs to do to fix this mess of a team. Nobody has much value right now so blowing it up won't get us very far.

Personally I don't believe the Jays are that far off.... they need to add the correct pieces (not blowing it apart). If anything they added to many pieces last summer.
Key is to find two (2) Starters that can give them really quality innings.

They also have to play better defence, and stop swinging for the fences all of the time.

There is batting work needed too...agreed I'm likely being hasty with blowing it up...but so frustrating to see them win 11 in a row and go what is it, 7-17? ever since.

Offense will be fine, they have the pieces. Just need to fine tune it.
Lawrie maturing and getting more experience will also help.
Personally an important piece is a 100% healthy Reyes... he is a true lead off hitter who hits for a good average.

No heart whatsoever.
I'm supposed to go to the game tomorrow, but I think I'd rather get my cavity filled.
