Why? He said it was a retro jersey.

Got a Baertschi jersey. Looks awesome. I'd say he's a safe bet.

How would one go about doing that?

Really? I'm shocked you would advise that.
Those retro jerseys are not exactly replica's of the vintage ones. It would be odd to see Loob on that jersey.

Updated as in bought a new one from rivercity
p.s they had a sale on Flames jerseys - Got the Brodie for ~$140 all said and done. The deal was on a couple weeks ago, not sure if its still going or not but its worth a call for those that are seeking a new jersey.

It's great to grab Boyd/Backlund jerseys so you can be one of the first to have them, but then it's kind of annoying when their second season they switch to a lower number and you're sitting their with a #60 Backlund jersey.
Although, I do know people who actually like that.

An Iginla 24 jersey is a pretty cool sight.

I own two Iggy jerseys, can't replace them. Add new ones! #12 is a uniform you can wear around the dome foreve ala' Al MacInnis, Lanny McDonald, & Fluery.

What about 27 Todd Simpson jersey? This one was awesome cause it had the double Flaming C for the captain symbol.
It was stolen though, who the eff steals a Todd Simpson jersey.
Who the eff buys it.
Fun fact about this jersey everyone. It was taking so long for the Fanattic at the Dome to get this jersey completed and sent out they took it to Mr. Simpson himself to get it signed then shipped to me. For 15 year old MrMastodonFarm, that was pretty darn cool.

Since this thread is about jerseys...do you have any recommendations or where to buy one online that ships to the US? Is the NHL-shop the best place for it? It's the only place I've used in the past.

NHL shop is brutal - iron on name bars instead of stitching IIRC.
I'll probably get slammed by anyone from the Iginla/Pens jersey thread, but I've done a lot of ordering from Rivercitysports.com. They ship to the US and have a decent sale on named jerseys. Good quality.

Next year's first rounder should be a good bet. Will probably be around for 15 years and the future captain.

Why not just leave it blank for now? While football jerseys look incomplete without numbers, you can get away with it on a hockey jersey.

For a Flames jersey that wont go out of style you have a couple options:
99-Gretzky jersey
87-Crosby Jersey
Your own favourite number-Your own last name
Current players number - Terrible nickname for them (I'm partial to a number 20 Scoreface jersey myself)
Any of those will look great.
