I always want Jagr. Yes, he is old, but it is mother ####### Jagr! Just a silly dream I have always had.
He is a good piece to flip at the deadline however.

This one says he is close. I know I read it somewhere in the last two days that he did sign but I cannot find it. I am sure someone else posted it.

Did former Jets defencemen, Hainsy (sp) sign somewhere? After the lockout there was talk he'd never get another nhl contract due to his alleged behavor during negociations.

No he hasn't signed somewhere. I was thinking of including him and Zidlicky on here. I'm actually surprised Hainsey hasn't signed yet.
Hadn't heard of those allegations though, interesting.

I'd take Sam Gagner, though that opinion will be hotly contested here, I imagine.

Burmi reminds me a lot like radulov with his attitude. He's a skilled guy but refuses to do the small things. Word is he isn't exactly a team player either and does his own thing. Was hoping he'd mature but I'm not sure.

I'd love to see Jagr become a Flame. I known Feaster is avoiding "post-apex" players. But I think the young guys would learn a LOT from Jagr, he brings impeccable work ethic to the team, and that could easily rub off on them. Someone like Baertschi could really use a mentor like this.

Might not cost him a contract but probably hurt his ranking as an available free agent on NHL.com

He would be a great mentor for the kids but I assume he wouldn't sign here though.

Why? I think if the Flames offered him the highest contract he would sign here. Not sure if I would like that but I think that's what would happen. Isn't it the general feeling he's been signing with whoever gives him the most cash?
As for me, I wont be to bummed if we miss out on someone like Brunner, it's not like he's a super young player. He's 27, he put up decent numbers playing with some of the best players in the world. However, if signing him takes him away from a team that could use him and now need to take a good look at Cammalleri/Stempniak, that might be worth it...

Personally, I think Jagr is more about the money than anything now. He is in total mercenary mode. I'd sign him and flip him at the deadline like Dallas did if Jagr was willing to accept that.

Yes, a blogger from Hockeybuzz but reference is made to Gary Lawless who is the Jets beat writer and Calgary Sun reporting that Flames did contact the Jets re: Burmistrov.
From what I can see, he seems to be the most realistic available upgrade in our top 6 C role. I tweeted Gary Lawless to see if he could provide an update (what Jets would want) and will pass along info should he reply. Believe this KHL contract is posturing to get out of WPG.

Well I hope the Flames are kick the tires more than once on this player. More likely they are trying to get a deal inked prior to pulling the trigger. I do wonder though, if the Flames offersheeted Burmi, would the Jets even want to match?

Depends on the comp coming back. If they get a 2nd rounder, don't see an issue. 3rd rounder - maybe they do. Let's hope you're right and they are working to get this done.

Sportsnet just said Jagr wants to play for the habs. He contacted the habs and now it's up to them.
