CFCN blue background bothers me. That and the fact Ian White has had the same hairstyle for as long as I can remember.

CFCN is so bad. They are on some kind of severe budget and are all very proud of themselves.

I remember being a child and visiting the set and wondering over to where the filmed the Buckshot Show. It was a disgrace... very traumatic.

When it comes to Calgary news Global is TSN to CTV's Sportnet. Which is bizarre when you figure CTV is TSN.

Global is just a cut above though, in quality of product and actual news.

^^^ She always kinda reminded me of Jan from the Office (Melora Hardin).

Global news for me and mainly because of Amber Schinkel.

No they don't, they have some shots before they cut back to the anchors that don't show the Bow or EAP (but if you look closely you can see the boom of the yellow potain crane that was at the Bow rising up from ground level). The actual city skyline backgrounds are pretty current, the Bow is in there as are many other newer skyscrapers.

You just got out-skyscraper nerded bro.

Global is far better than CTV. WRGMG about them though is the fact that whoever enters the ticker information on the morning news, and the video titles on the evening news, apparently didn't get their Grade 10. I swear not a day passes by that I don't notice a spelling mistake on one of Global's news telecasts. So irritating.

Global does have some babes, but they need to upgrade in the weather department (which is where you're SUPPOSED to have hot bimbos). The weeknight one Carla is alright(although I couldn't tell you if she's 25, 35 or 45), but the sometimes-weekend one Suzy is a train wreck.

And did anyone see Carolyn Kury Decastillo on over the long weekend? She was reporting in a highly professional sequinned tank top, and her arm just about made me throw up. She obviously works out a ton, but without sleeves, it was a mass of veins and leathery skin. I felt sorry for the poor microphone, as it looked like she had a death grip locked in. Here's the video:

My parents have been loyal CFCN news viewers ever since I can remember. They seem to have zero interest in watching any other network's coverage. Strange that.

I tend to watch Global in the evenings and BT in the mornings (although that's rare these days).

Global did an excellent job with the recent flood coverage.

I don't think CTV comes across my radar.

I'll watch The National on CBC if I'm up and interested.

Watching the local news on CTV or CBC is much poorer quality in terms of HD broadcasting.
(On Shaw anyways).

Suzy Burgess is from Red Deer. She always looks as though someone 'shopped this gigantic head on this tiny body and that it will fall off at any second. Nancy Hixt used to be in Red Deer ages ago - remember watching her on a local news station there when we lived in Innisfail - somebody got a boob job between leaving Red Deer and starting at Global.

We watch Global, though there are a couple of reporters that irk. Voodooman, I've noticed the ticker thing also.

Oh wow, I completely forgot about CBC's local coverage. And it took about 30 posts for anyone to even mention it. Does nobody watch it? CBC is my go to for national coverage, and sometimes local radio coverage, but I never ever watch the local TV. Weird.
