The Jets are balls deep with young D like bogosian enstrom trouba and now morrissey. There's no way he's getting in on that. However he could be a decent project for the Flames

I was a bit surprised too, I thought he'd be a 6th or 7th rounder. Watched him a lot in Salzburg this year, he's got talent. He easily beat out Alex Auld (well, not a huge accomplishment ) and looked at least as good as veteran Bernd Brückler.

I don't see why a team would draft someone who already refused to sign with one team. Too risky considering the quality of those prospects.

Now signing them as UFA's, I don't see why not. Maybe they had some legitimite issues with the way they were treated, it's hard to know. And greed is not a totally terrible thing. Jagr is a total mercenary, still a great player. Giordano went to Russia for a year because he didn't get the contract he wanted in Calgary.

He is a Canucks fan. I remember last year he was sitting at the draft table with Byfuglien and Duthie asked about him growing up a Canucks fan then asked Buff what he thought about that. He smiled and said, "we'll have to change that."
