(Ridiculous really, especially since we attacked them with the Germans last time around. And Karelia is as much it's own place or a part of Russia as it is of Finland. And it's not like there's a clear "ancestral Finland" anyway. Or a Finland for very long for that matter...

I would guess that they will, at least if they're still interested.

At least HC Slovan Bratislava (from Slovakia) plays for the European Trophy and is in the KHL.

One almost wonders if the SM-liiga and SHL might consider a merger to strengthen their own position. It would, by necessity, dump some of the weaker teams in each league to lower divisions though.
