Hearing Darian Durant's interview on how he feel about their semi-final lost to Stamps makes me sick. It sounded like both BC Lions and Saskatchewan are not giving the Stamps respect. Durant was blaming the breakdown on their lost and not because he was suck in the first half of that game. Riders was lucky to come back on that game and made the game so close. BC was the same thing blaming their communication problem instead of saying the Stamps outplayed them. Wow, no respect!!
No real surprise. DD has been a POS his whole career and despite having some of the most favourable reffing in the history of sports helping him out he always comes up with excuses for his bonehead plays and fact that he sucks.
I will say this, DD will have a good year and mainly because the Riders finally found him an OC who can really teach him how to be QB in Cortez. I still think the Riders are the 3rd best team in the division but they should be much better than last year.
The BC Lions Football Club is pleased to announce that team president and CEO Dennis Skulsky along with VP of football operations and GM Wally Buono have signed contract extensions through end of the 2016 season.
“The foundation of any successful organization comes from its ability to preserve continuity among its leadership,” said Lions owner David Braley. “The efforts of Dennis and Wally have not only created a winning culture, they have also enabled our organization to expand its role in the community. Under their leadership, the BC Lions brand is stronger and I’m pleased to have them leading the way in years to come.”
“It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to work alongside David, Wally, Mike and our entire staff,” said Skulsky. “As we enter our club’s historic 60th season, I continue to be amazed at our loyal and supportive fan base and when you combine that with David’s 17 years of inspiring ownership and Wally’s expertise on the football end, I believe the future of the BC Lions and the Canadian Football League has never been brighter.”
“Wally’s ability to keep our team among the very best in the league is a testament to his expertise, experience and passion.” said Skulsky. “It’s our goal to be the Pride of All BC and that is something that I know Wally takes to heart. Over the past 10 years, he and his family have embraced this community and made it their home. His passion for football and building championship teams is unmatched, and I am thrilled to have Wally leading our efforts on the field.”
“I am grateful for the opportunity to work with coach Mike Benevides to build teams we can be proud of and our fans can be excited about supporting,” said Buono. “David and Dennis have been tremendously supportive and I am very excited to continue doing what I love to do each day.”
Ricky Ray, Charleston Hughes, Lindsey Lamar and Jon Cornish were named the Gibson’s Finest Players of the Week for Week 1 of the 2013 Canadian Football League season.
Quote:
Hughes started off his season with a bang, registering a total of four tackles, including three quarterback sacks, in Calgary’s 44-32 victory against the BC Lions.
The veteran rush end's presence on the defensive line helped hold the Lions to just 72 yards rushing in the game.
Joining Hughes as the second Stampeder to be honoured this week, Cornish runs away with the top Canadian award after rushing for 172 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries in the Stamps win over the Lions. The native of New Westminster, British Columbia also caught one pass for 20 yards.
Prior to the game, Cornish announced he would donate $10 for every yard he gained against BC for the flood victims in Alberta.

Good grief, Ed Hervey/Kavis Reed are buffoons who are making a once proud franchise into a clown show. Edmonton traded All-Star Greg Wojt, Simoni Lawrence, and Jeremiah Masoli, to Hamilton for Nathan Kanya, and the rights to Carson Rockhill. Hamilton and Edmonton think Carson Rockhill is going to be a good pro.
From what I understand the clown show let Carson Rockhill go at the end of training camp because they have/had no clue how to shuffle their roster to make room for him on it, they thought because he was an Alberta kid he would stay loyal while they sorted these mess they created with his future hanging in the air, and/or bring him back on their roster and then send him back to school because he has one year left. Carson Rockhill ends up back in Hamilton today after he signed with them. That's a really good fleecing job by Kent Austin and a horribly lopsided trade for the clown show. Six members on Hamilton's roster are currently from the Edmonton debacle (could be 7 before the end of the week with Hugo Lopez).
Can't forget the clown shown telling a lie about Tavoy Moore who they cut and said had a torn ACL, they were very high on him, Hamilton picked him up and and then the truth comes after Kent Austin said he could be back August 2 against Edmonton. For someone like Tavoy Moore who still has NFL hopes I would beyond pissed if someone exaggerated a serious knee injury like that. Kavis Reed and Ed Hervery are a doing a wonderful job, I hope they have jobs for the next 5-10 years.

Reason: I can't spell worth a crap.

A couple of things about this. #1, Absolutely perfect, I love that DD and by extension Saskatchewan has a sense of entitlement about being able to beat a 12-6 team on the road in the playoffs when they rode into the playoffs in craptacular fashion finishing 8-10 despite their hot start. At the end of the day after two sub .500 seasons, it's actually them who has to prove themselves worthy of sucess, not the Stamps. The longer they think of themselves as the favorite, playoff sucess will elude them. #2 BC has always thought of themselves as the most talented team in the league. I recall watching the Grey Cup hoopla coverage in 2008 where they interviewed Cameron Wake and Geroy Simon and the way they were talking made it seem that the eventual winner should have to place an * next to their name in the record book because the championship was not legitimate if they weren't involved. They won in 2011 because after starting 1-6 they had to come to terms with actually having to show up and outplay teams.

Unbelievable that someone actually find an equally as bad, if not worse management team to run the other professional sports team in that city.
Eskimos sure are doing a good job of turning those crappy Eastern teams back into contenders though.
#Riders Dwight Anderson fined for his 'throat slashing gesture' toward #Eskimos bench and being abusive toward officials.
NOTE: Appeal of the Anderson fine comes from Anderson and his agent. Not the #Riders.
Am told #SskRoughriders DB Dwight Anderson is appealing the #CFL fine (for a "throat slashing" gesture and being abusive toward officials).
Dwight Anderson's contention in the appeal to the #CFL is that his 3rd quarter act was *not* a throat-slash. #SskRoughriders#Riders
The #CFL fine, which the league would not announce publicly, is $750. Anderson contends his throat-slash was a play call. Not a taunt. https://twitter.com/ArashMadani
