At that price point, you should be easily able to buy some very good cigards. You don't need the super big ones. If you guys are no regular cigar smokers, you probably won't enjoy an overly large cigar to begin with.

Real Cubans are totally legal in Canada. As psycnet said you cannot go wrong with a solid Cuban like Romeo y Julieta. For non-smokers part of the appeal will be the wow factor from the Cuban brand.

Something about small flavored cigars being inexpensive and tempting to young people causing addictions, so the feds banned em.

curses! I'll still go check it out, maybe I'll just look like a rich jerk smoking Romeo y Julieta's all week until my lungs give out on me.

I saw Backwoods at the cigar shop a couple of months ago, and I haven't heard anything about them not being available.

Nah...rich jerks smoke Cohibas. Their quality (relative to other Cubans) is really not worth the premium the name provides.

What is the best way to store cigars in your house if you do not have a humidor?

Same, I'm sure I bought a pack of them in the spring.

And I second Tobacco Outlet, always had a good experience with them. Zigarren, not so much. And yeah, Sheffield in Chinook is a huge rip off.

They banned filtered cigarillos like Swisher Sweets. Similar products just removed the filter and put tobacco in its place - PrimeTime, Bullseye, etc.

Sponge, plastic bag, distilled water, and a tupperware container.

Wet the sponge (wring it out) and place it in an open plastic bag (eg, ziploc). Put the bag in a tupperware container along with the cigars. If you can, make sure the cigars are not touching the sponge or the bag, and seal the container.

Presto! Cheap humidor!

Great cuban, and should only be about ~160 bucks after tax for a dozen. Some shops might even offer a slight discount, though they are sold by the box for cheaper (for 25).
That is what I get when I want a cigar, it's only a couple times a year but I quite enjoy them.

As a follow up, I was at Tobacco Outlet this past week and they have a couple diff kinds of Backwoods there. Also, the staff at the Silverado store were very attentive and helpful.

I have 5 different flavors at my location... I was thinking of putting a bachelor package together, poker chips, playing cards, tshirt for the bachelor and then the customer would come in and we'd help choose the cigars according to their budget to go into the basket. I know as I've organized a couple of bachelor parties also and am novice when it comes to cigars I would hope something like this would help.

If u have time I recommend looking online. U can save a lot of money that way. I Find cigar prices in canada appear to have a huge mark up in the store. I have bought several boxes at Atlantic cigar company online and have found them to be great to deal with. Only disadvantage is no Cubans (if that's what u prefer).
